Zach Galifianakis is ready to share his love of horticulture with audiences. The comedic actor from The Hangover franchise is hosting a new show on Netflix next month. The 56-year-old will bring his unique humor to the program while also discussing his appreciation for the planet.
You’ll be seeing Zach go in between ferns, surrounded by carrots and several other plants throughout the show. Although Zach will host, he won’t position himself as an expert but rather as an audience member curious to learn more.
The actor will host new Netflix series, This Is a Gardening Show
Expect to see a fresh perspective on gardening in Zach’s upcoming program. The series is appropriately titled This is a Gardening Show. It’s a refreshing and whimsical take on gardening.
The goal for Zach and viewers is to learn more about that industry. At the gaining some valuable, accessible and educational tools that people can use in their own gardens. “If I were to offer a remedy to the human condition, it would be a garden,” said Zach in a Netflix promo.
It feels like it’s a change from the acting roles we know from Zach. Some of his most iconic film roles include explicit and often raunchy comedies like The Hangover. In December, it was rumored that one of his co-stars from that franchise, Bradley Cooper, had popped the question to his girlfriend, Gigi Hadid.
The program’s director, Brook Linder, says the comedian has a genuine interest in gardening and growing things. He believes the show will serve as a bit of an excuse for Zach to talk to people about gardening and learning some things along the way.
This is a Gardening Show debuting fittingly on Earth Day, April 22. There will be six 15–20-minute episodes on Netflix.
