Carl Radke Talks ‘Disconnected’ Kyle Cooke Friendship

Things aren’t looking good for Summer House stars Carl Radke and Kyle Cooke’s friendship. Season 10 started off fine, with Carl being there for Kyle as a sounding board. He’s listened as Kyle has opened up about all the issues he had going on with his wife Amanda Batula and his business Loverboy. However, when Carl has tried to talk to Kyle, the respect has not been mutual. And this has made Carl feel “disconnected” in their friendship.

Carl has finally hit his breaking point with Kyle. He’s listened on as Kyle discussed his financial struggles and his worries with Amanda. But during Season 10, Episode 10, Kyle took it one step too far with Carl when he did not text Carl on the anniversary of his brother’s passing but remembered to post a happy birthday to Lindsay Hubbard instead.

Jesse Solomon told Carl, “I think you’ve been a great friend to Kyle, and I think you deserve that same thing back.” Carl said, “I know how Amanda feels now. What friends want to be with someone that doesn’t listen to them and just kind of has a general sense of ‘I do whatever the f*ck I want.’”

When West Wilson confronted Kyle about it, Kyle gave a word salad excuse that he had to do “laundry” and had an “important call.” West said, “If you’re talking to him, don’t bring up laundry.”

Carl then pulled Kyle aside during a round of mini golf. Kyle said, “There’s no excuse; I just spaced.” But his lack of remorse left Carl speechless. The best he could do was tell Kyle he was “disappointed” in their friendship.

However, in his confessional, Carl knew exactly what he had wanted to tell Kyle. He said, “I think I wanted to say f*ck you. Who else do you have in your life that is anywhere close to someone like me that shows up for you and cares for you? … If I’m not your friend, who do you got?”

Summer House airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo. It can be streamed on Peacock the next day.
