20 years after first bringing the world of fashion to the big screen in dramatic fashion, Anne Hathaway and Helen Mirren are back this year for The Devil Wears Prada 2. Two decades after Andy Sachs and Miranda Priestly’s dramatic introduction, the two will be back together for a wild new story, in which Miranda has to navigate a new media landscape and find her company’s place in it. They also reconnect with their former assistant, Emily Blunt’s Emily Charlton, who is now the head of the Dior luxury brand and possesses funding that could help Priestley’s Runway survive another day.

Early critic reviews for The Devil Wears Prada 2 praised Hathaway and Mirren’s performances in their returns to the franchise, while also complimenting the film for adding to the story as a sequel while keeping the spirit of the original. After the original movie made over $320 million at the global box office in 2006 (the 12th-highest total of that year), anticipation is building to see what kind of fashion-inspired shenanigans will unfold in the second chapter of this story. Now, after critics shared their initial reactions to the film, another metric is teasing how much of a success it might be.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 had its Rotten Tomatoes score revealed, with its Tomatometer score (critics’ score) coming in at 77%. This means that 77% of reviews tallied on the site were ranked as positive (6/10 or higher), designating the movie as “fresh.” This is only slightly higher than what the original The Devil Wears Prada earned in 2006, as that film sits with a 75% Tomatometer score as of writing; It also has a similar 76% Popcornmeter score (audience score).

More to come…
