Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the fell 0.71% to hit a new 1-month low, while the index lost 1.07%, and the index declined 1.23%.
The best performers of the session on the were Munich Reinsurance (ETR:), which rose 1.27% or 4.50 points to trade at 357.90 at the close. Meanwhile, E.ON SE (ETR:) added 1.13% or 0.13 points to end at 11.14 and Covestro AG (ETR:) was up 1.08% or 0.52 points to 48.64 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SAP SE (ETR:), which fell 2.53% or 3.22 points to trade at 123.90 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:) declined 2.26% or 0.75 points to end at 32.17 and Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:) was down 2.12% or 3.55 points to 163.85.
The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:) which rose 2.61% to 25.99, Talanx AG NA O.N. (ETR:) which was up 1.17% to settle at 60.45 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:) which gained 1.00% to close at 1.72.
The worst performers were Befesa SA (ETR:) which was down 4.02% to 31.48 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:) which lost 3.50% to settle at 73.10 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:) which was down 3.41% to 28.92 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:) which rose 2.45% to 28.46, ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:) which was up 2.05% to settle at 7.48 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:) which gained 1.00% to close at 1.72.
The worst performers were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:) which was down 5.73% to 41.16 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:) which lost 3.50% to settle at 73.10 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:) which was down 3.41% to 28.92 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 458 to 203 and 81 ended unchanged.
Shares in Munich Reinsurance (ETR:) rose to all time highs; up 1.27% or 4.50 to 357.90. Shares in Talanx AG NA O.N. (ETR:) rose to all time highs; up 1.17% or 0.70 to 60.45.
The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 6.34% to 18.79.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.67% or 12.85 to $1,915.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.40% or 1.11 to hit $80.49 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.04% or 0.87 to trade at $84.32 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 103.33.
