Being a dedicated gamer opens up a world of uncertainty. Our favorite franchises often suffer the wrath of chance. From delays, lay-offs and straight-up studio closures, we often don’t get the end result we want. And with Grand Theft Auto VI being delayed more than once, it’s reassuring every now and again when a triple A games’ studio confirms their launch date. Thankfully, Marvel’s Wolverine from Insomniac Games is still coming in 2026.
Thanks to an official post on X from Insomniac Games, we now know that Marvel’s Wolverine is still on track to launch this September on PS5. In fact, you can even wishlist it today, which will come as much-needed reassurance to many gamers. Fans of Logan and his awful manicure routine will be carving their way through plenty of meat puppets this Fall. No delays, push backs, or Peter Monyleaux-sized false promises.
With Insomniac Games’ track record working on the Spider-Man franchise, Marvel’s Wolverine will no doubt bring us one of the best video game adaptations of this beloved comic book character. The story is set to be a unique stand-alone adventure that doesn’t pull from existing comic book lore. Insomniac Games has always put their own artistic twists on the comic book characters we love and no doubt we’ll get to see a fresh version of Logan in September, but a host of villains and heroes alike.
Marvel’s Wolverine’s story will be set across many backdrops with Logan globe-trotting throughout his adventure. This means the skies are the limit for the characters we might bump into along the way. The Marvel Spider-Man series was never shy about introducing well-known heroes and villains with a fresh lick of paint, so we can expect more of the same from Marvel’s Wolverine. No doubt, Peter Parker and/or Mile Morales will make an appearance or two.
September 15, 2026, can’t come soon enough. With the summer months still to get through, no doubt we’ll be seeing more gameplay reveals and perhaps narrative sneak peeks in the coming months. The launch window of September is a smart move from Insomniac Games too. With a Grand Theft Auto VI teaser due to drop and a full game launch in November, it gives Marvel’s Wolverine just enough breathing room to not impact its sales. We should have well and truly wrapped up Logan’s adventure in time for the biggest game of the year to take over our lives.
For those who are unaware, Marvel’s Wolverine is a third-person action adventure game with heavy emphasis on melee combat. The game promises to be brutal, bloody and disgusting in all the best possible ways. Add to that a strong storyline and character arcs, and you’ve got a winning game on your hands.
