Vanesa from Virginia is feeling good about her decision to come on down. The retired military veteran decided to go all in on Friday’s episode of The Price Is Right, and that’s paying off handsomely for her.
The renowned game show, which has been on the air for over half a century, grabbed plenty of headlines on Friday. Vanessa won big playing a new game introduced to the program earlier this season. Friday was a special Mother’s Day episode.
The CBS Daytime show is making history
The life of a Toano, Virginia woman changed forever today. Vanessa got lucky playing The Lion’s Share. At the end of it all, she took home a whopping $240,000 worth of cash and prizes. Not a bad payday for the woman heading into the Mother’s Day weekend. In fact, in the 54-year history of The Price Is Right, it’s the largest winnings anyone has ever had.
After her history-making appearance, Vanessa said that it was all so “surreal” for her. She went on to call her massive win a “dream moment that only kept getting bigger.” While she admitted to being nervous before competing on the show, Vanessa can rest easy knowing that her bank account has just grown by leaps and bounds.
Her masterful gameplay on The Lion’s Share earned her $227,500. She also won herself a trip to Morocco, valued at an estimated $12,650. Her total winnings eclipse the previous best for a single pricing game set on the show in 2016. That’s when one contestant pocketed a cool $210,000 for the game Cliffhangers.
Friday’s show was a good news story for the program, which hasn’t gotten much of it in recent times. In March, some bombshell allegations surfaced about supposed inappropriate behavior from years ago. Those claims were made by former members of host Bob Barker’s Beauties.
As for Vanessa, she says that she intends to invest her six-figure winnings wisely. She added that she will treat her mother with a special surprise this weekend.
