Red Dead Redemption 2’s Guarma Is Now Yours To Explore In Full

Red Dead Redemption 2 has really over-performed in terms of giving players a good time, with thousands still returning all the time to pop a few rounds off at their nearest lawman, or to simply ride around and take in the beautiful world that Rockstar managed to create all the way back in 2018.

The fact that it’s so packed to the brim with details has made it feel like there’s always something new to discover, no matter how many times you’ve played already. At the same time, if you’re a PC player, you can also take advantage of the wonderful efforts of the game’s modding community to extend the experience out even further.

Now, another example of the latter has arrived, and it finally gives players a more legitimate way to get back to one of the game’s most iconic location.

Anybody who has played through Red Dead Redemption 2 will remember Arthur Morgan et Al. washing up on the shores of the fictional Guarma after the disastrous Saint Denis bank robbery. It’s a really cool location, and quite an exciting part of the narrative, but there’s no legitimate way to return after the events are said and done.

As first reported by GAMINGbible, a new mod has just been made available that allows players to go back at any point, and there’s plenty more to do there if you do decide to. Guarma Expanded is an impressively thought out mod that adds small but highly detailed locations to the island for players to explore.

Those new locales include a pirate shipwreck complete with dead scurvy sea dog in the North of the island, as well as a rebel graveyard filled with fighters who died in battle. The mod also has a bunch of random encounters you can come across, including a group of moonshiners, an escapee from a local plantation, and an animal hunter on the search for exotic pelts.

The only thing you’ll want to be aware of is that there are several mod dependencies that you’ll need to have installed to get it to work, including Guarma Pirate Restored, Rampage Trainer, Map Editor, and Lenny’s Mod Loader.

With Rockstar now fully engrossed in the production of GTA VI, the unfortunate fact remains that we probably aren’t going to get another game in the Red Dead series for a long while yet, if ever. That’s why the work of the modding community is so important, if only to keep the game alive for players who would otherwise be left out in the proverbial cold.
