What better way for Paramount+ to announce when Kelsey Grammer will be back on our screens as Frasier Crane than with a new version of the iconic theme song?
“Frasier has reentered the building. No more callers. All new hang-ups. Oh, what fresh start is this?” the teaser asks. It reveals that the Frasier revival will premiere with the first two episodes on Thursday, October 12 on Paramount+. (The rest of the 10-episode season will then drop weekly on Thursdays.) Watch the video, which features a new recording of the iconic theme song “Tossed Salads & Scrambled Eggs” by Grammer above.
Paramount+ has also released photos, which you can see below, offering a look at Grammer back as well as the new characters joining him. Furthermore, CBS will broadcast a special airing of the first two episodes back-to-back on Tuesday, October 17 at 9:15/8:15c, following a super-sized episode of Big Brother.
Frasier is filmed in front of a live studio audience at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles and follows the titular character in the next chapter of his life as he returns to Boston with new challenges to face, new relationships to forge and an old dream or two to finally fulfill.
The revival stars, in addition to Grammer, Jack Cutmore-Scott as Frasier’s son Freddy; Nicholas Lyndhurst as Frasier’s old college buddy turned university professor Alan; Toks Olagundoye as Olivia, Alan’s colleague and head of the university’s psychology department; Jess Salgueiro as Freddy’s roommate Eve; and Anders Keith as Frasier’s nephew David. Among the actors returning to reprise their roles from the original series are Bebe Neuwirth as Lilith and Peri Gilpin as Roz.
Frasier, produced by CBS Studios in association with Grammer’s Grammnet NH Productions, comes from writers Chris Harris and Joe Cristalli. They serve as executive producers with Grammer, Tom Russo, and Jordan McMahon. The first two episodes of the new series are directed by legendary director and television creator James Burrows.
Frasier originally premiered on September 16, 1993. The series still holds the record for the most Emmy wins for a comedy with 37 (and 107 nominations). You can stream the original series on Paramount+ and Pluto TV.
