Hudson’s Instagram post included show photographs from the Columbus performance and a note that made the night’s emotional temperature clear. “Columbus!!! My heart is so full from last night!” she wrote. “I felt the love in the room and I hope you did too. Now let’s keep the party going…Detroit, I’m headed your way! Keep clear for JHUD!!!!!”
Hudson didn’t describe a nice show or a receptive crowd. She said her heart was full. She told Columbus the feeling went both ways. Then she moved directly to Detroit. The language was specific, not polite.
It helps to remember who’s making this announcement. Hudson first came to national attention as a finalist on American Idol in 2004. She didn’t win the competition. She won everything else.
