Marriott Bonvoy’s Fall 2023 Promotion: Earn 1,500 Bonus Points

Marriott Bonvoy puts on rotating promotions throughout the year. The promotions usually appear quarterly, and are either targeted or non-targeted.

This fall, with Marriott’s “Go Your Way” promotion, you can earn 1,500 bonus points per eligible paid stay, as well as 3,000 bonus points for staying at three different brands.

Marriott’s “Go Your Way” Promotion: Earn 1,500 Bonus Points Per Stay

Marriott’s Fall 2023 “Go Your Way” promotion has been launched, and you can earn bonus Marriott Bonvoy points on paid stays over the fall months.

For each eligible paid stay between September 12, 2023 and December 6, 2023, you’ll earn 1,500 bonus Mariott Bonvoy points. 

Furthermore, you can earn an additional 3,000 Bonvoy points for every three unique hotel brands you stay at during the promotional period.

You must register by November 22, 2023 prior to the first qualifying stay, even if the stay was booked before the promotion was announced.

While this is a global promotion that should be available to all members, there are reports that some people don’t have the offer available in their account. If this is the case, it’s worth following up with Marriott and checking your account in the coming weeks, as the issue may be resolved by then.

You’ll need to be on a qualifying rate to be eligible for this promotion, which is defined as any paid rate. Unfortunately, bookings made with points or Free Night Awards aren’t eligible for this promotion.

The stay itself must take place within the eligibility period of between September 12 and December 6, 2023.

Almost any hotel under the Marriott umbrella qualifies for this promotion. Bookings at The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy, Marriott Executive Apartments, and owner-occupied weeks at Marriott Vacation Club, Marriott Grand Residence Club, Sheraton Vacation Club, Westin Vacation Club, The Ritz-Carlton Club, St. Regis Residence Club and Luxury Collection Residence Club aren’t eligible under this promotion.

The fine print states that the 1,500 bonus points earned through the promotion will post within seven business days of checkout, and the 3,000 points for staying at three different brands will post within six weeks.

We’d value 1,500 Bonvoy points at $12 (CAD), so there’s not really any potential to get a meaningful return in points through the promotion. If you have any paid stays at Marriott properties over the fall, there’s no harm in registering for the promotion; however, it’s just not quite as lucrative as other promotions we’ve seen.

How to Maximize the “Go Your Way” Promotion

With a fixed amount of points available through the promotion, there isn’t much room to get outsized value from the promotion.

You stand to benefit the most from the promotion if you tend to make shorter stays at less expensive properties. You’ll get the same 1,500 points per stay if you spend one night at a property that costs $50 per night, as you would if you spent $1,000 per night at a high-end property.

If we factor in the 3,000 bonus points for staying at three different brands, the most you could earn per stay averages out at 2,500 points per night: 1,500 for the stay, and 1,000 as part of staying at a different brand.

Therefore, your best bet is to make shorter bookings with various less-expensive brands over the fall, as you’ll be generating 1,500 points for each paid stay, and an extra 1,000 points per stay for stays at three different brands.

However, this promotion isn’t lucrative enough to go out of your way to earn points this way. If you have stays coming up for the fall months, keep track of the different brands you stay at, and try to mix it up as much as possible.

It’s worth noting that there are some concurrent promotions that you can take advantage of to help offset the cost of stays this fall.

Until November 25, 2023 , there’s a “Spend $500, Get $100” Marriott Amex Offer at Canadian hotels. If you were to spend exactly $500 on a hotel stay, you’d effectively get a 20% discount on your stay.

However, you may also be able to purchase a gift card at a Canadian Marriott property, which you could then use to book eligible paid rates for this promotion at different properties.

Alternatively, if you have a trip to Edmonton planned, there are some great hotel offers available through Edmonton’s Best Hotels.

Through this program, you earn a prepaid credit card when you make a booking through the Edmonton’s Best Hotels portal, which can then be used against the cost of your stay. It’s a great way to save money on hotel stays in Alberta’s capital, and hopefully, we’ll see the return of similar offers available in Vancouver and Richmond now that the busy summer season is coming to a close.

Unlike booking through other online travel agencies, these bookings appear to be made directly with the hotel, which means that they’re considered eligible rates. Simply contact the hotel once you’ve made your booking and ask them to attach your Bonvoy number, and then make use of the benefits you enjoy through your status.

For stays at higher-end properties, consider booking through Marriott Luminous or Marriott STARS. The bookings are made directly with the hotel, which means that they indeed qualify under this promotion. 

You won’t pay more than the best available refundable rate, and you’ll enjoy a suite of extra perks on top of your status benefits, including free breakfast, a property credit (varies by property), priority for room upgrades, and more.

Marriott Bonvoy’s promotion for Fall 2023 allows members to earn up to 1,500 bonus points per eligible paid stay, and an additional 3,000 bonus points upon staying at three different brands.

If you’re able to make use of the promotion, it’ll add a few extra points to your balance; however, it’s worth noting that this is one of the weaker promotions Marriott has brought forth.

Registration is required by November 22, 2023, as only stays completed after registration will qualify for this promotion. Be sure to register and complete your paid stays during the promotional period to enjoy a few extra points in your account.
