Ingredients for S’mores Brownies

  • Milk Chocolate Bars: Classic Hershey’s bars give that nostalgic s’mores flavor, but any good-quality milk chocolate works well.
  • Brownie Mix: Use your favorite boxed mix. Fudgy mixes work best here.
  • PB Variation: Want to jazz it up? Add a layer of peanut butter to the top of the graham crackers before adding the chocolate bar.

How to Make S’mores Brownies

This s’mores brownie recipe is always a hit with my kids, and I love how simple they are to make. They come together fast and never last long in our house! For another s’mores fix, try my Starbucks copycat s’mores bars, they’re so good!

  1. Add the Graham Crackers: Preheat the oven and spray a 9×9-inch baking pan with nonstick spray. Line the pan with parchment paper. Place a single layer of graham crackers on the bottom of the pan.
  2. Add the Chocolate: Top with a layer of chocolate bars.
  3. Mix the Brownie Batter: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the brownie mix, large eggs, oil, and water until smooth.
  4. Add Brownie Layer and Bake: Pour the batter over the chocolate bars, then bake until set.
  5. Add Marshmallow Layer: Remove the brownies from the oven, then top them with the marshmallows.
  6. Broil: Switch the oven to broil and toast the marshmallows until golden brown. Let the S’mores Brownies cool fully before slicing.

Prevent your screen from going dark

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a 9 x 9-inch pan with nonstick cooking spray and line with parchment paper.

  • Arrange a single layer of 6 sheets graham crackers on the bottom of the pan. Place a layer of 6 (1.55-ounce) bars Hershey’s chocolate over the top of the graham crackers.

  • In a large bowl, prepare 1 box brownie mix according to the package directions.

  • Pour the batter over the chocolate bars in the prepared pan and bake for 35-40 minutes.

  • Remove brownies from the oven and top with the 1 (12-ounce) bag large marshmallows. Turn the oven to broil and place the brownies in the oven for 1-2 minutes, until the marshmallows are golden brown and toasted. Let the brownies cool completely before slicing and serving.

Storage Instructions

  • Room temperature: Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2–3 days. Keep them covered well so the marshmallows stay soft.
  • Refrigerator: For longer storage, refrigerate for up to 5 days. Let them come to room temperature before serving for the best texture.
  • Freezer: Wrap tightly and store in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months.
  • To thaw: Let frozen brownies sit at room temperature for a few hours, or warm briefly in the microwave for a gooey, fresh-baked finish.
