The Reacher train is moving forward full speed ahead, as star Alan Ritchson and the team at Amazon Prime Video show no signs of slowing down with this hit series. Based on Lee Child’s hit book series, the TV adaptation has become one of Prime Video’s biggest hits, marking the first time the streamer has ever had a series top the Nielsen streaming rankings. In the show, Ritchson shines as former U.S. Army Military Police Major Jack Reacher, who becomes a drifter after his days as a soldier and travels the country; from there, he usually finds himself in unexpected trouble and winds up helping innocent people in need, using his size, skills, and brains to come out on top.
Over the last four years, Reacher has consistently earned early renewals before new seasons have started airing. This happened once again when Season 5 was greenlit, which came about three months before Season 4 makes its debut on Prime Video in Aug. 2026. The Amazon team is also busy expanding this universe beyond Jack Reacher, as Maria Sten’s Frances Neagly will have her own solo spin-off, premiering on the same day as the final episode of Reacher Season 4. Now, fans have new insight into what to expect from this franchise in the near future.
Speaking with Screen Rant, Reacher star Alan Ritchson confirmed when he and the show’s team will begin shooting Season 5. Promoting his new movie, Motor City, he told the outlet that he and the team “start shooting on Monday” and that he has to “leave here and go” right to the set for production. He also admitted to knowing which Reacher book this season will adapt before explaining that the rest of this year will be dedicated to bringing Season 5 to life:
“Yeah, we know [which book we’re adapting]. The season’s been written. All the scripts are done. The last half of my year is going to be all ‘Reacher’ Season 5.”
More to come…
