While Phase 6 is nearing its end, The Multiverse Saga has finally put the spotlight back on Spider-Man, following the massive success of Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios’ No Way Home in 2021. However, while Peter is currently back in theaters, many are wondering what the future has in store for him.
In a new interview with 1Live, Holland was asked by the host what would be the actor’s first question that he would personally ask as a Spider-Man fan if the star were in the interviewer’s position. The Spider-Man: Brand New Day lead stated, “I guess it would be, ‘When will we get Miles Morales?’ would be the question I would ask. Because I know the answer.”
While Miles has been alluded to in the MCU timeline, the character has yet to appear in live-action due to the fact that Sony is still finishing the current iteration in the animated Spider-Verse franchise. Because Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is opening in 2027, that has prevented Marvel Studios from using the famous hero within the Avengers-based continuity.
However, once the 2027 entry is released and finishes Miles’ trilogy, Sony and Marvel have been vocal about wanting to bring him to life outside animation. Even former Sony CEO Amy Pascal, who works as a producer on Holland’s MCU films and the Spider-Verse property, has been on the record that a live-action movie for Miles is on the table.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige even recently spoke about how they definitely have plans for him. While Phase 7 will have projects like the X-Men reboot, Black Panther 3, and Ghost Rider, very little is known about the MCU after Avengers: Secret Wars, which will finish Phase 6 in 2027.

It would also make sense that Holland seemingly knows about Miles’ timeline, especially given how he has commented about when his time as Peter could be coming to an end. The British star stated to the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast that “there’s a whole plan that we have been working on for, I would say, since we finished Spider-Man: No Way Home. It’s laid out. It’s gonna change for sure, but I have a really clear vision to the passing on of the baton, and I think it’s really exciting.”
The biggest question is also how they will finish Peter’s arc in the franchise and pass the Spider-Man mantle to Miles, since there are numerous routes that they can take. It’s not guaranteed that they would do it exactly like in the Ultimate comics, where the New York hero dies, which paves the way for his successor to take over.
Recent examples like Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 showed that Peter and Miles can co-exist without the former being killed off. Following the Spider-Man: Brand New Day ending, it seems very likely that there will be at least one more solo feature for Holland’s character, but whether or not it includes another web-slinger remains to be seen.
