Welcome back, Below Deck Mediterranean fans! Last week, Joy and Kayley broke down, while Gen joked about going after Cooper, which Kat hated. Elsewhere, Joe nailed his duties as the acting bosun. But Nathan still came for his head via a shady text sent to Max. And now, here’s what happened on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 11 Episode 12.
What happened in Below Deck Mediterranean Season 11 Episode 12?
Joy and Kayley work extra hard, hoping to make up for their mistakes last week, as Max goes back and forth, weighing Nathan’s unprofessional offer. Max also gets a shocking text from home that threatens to derail his entire season. But on the fun side, Captain Sandy throws Aesha a surprise bachelorette party. And this celebration brings Hannah Ferrier, plus two other former yachties, back to Below Deck Med!
Max struggles with Nathan’s text
Poor Max. He wants to be the lead deckhand, but he hates betraying Joe. Also, Max likes Joe more than Nathan, to the point where, if Max could pick his bosun, it would be Joe, not this immature man sending him a shady text from just offshore. Max clearly has a lot to think about.
So does Joy. She’s making the guests everything they asked for tonight. As for Kayley, she is going “to embody Aesha” and “knock [their final dinner service] out of the park.” Luckily, their efforts pay off, and their guests head to bed, happy.
Gen is also happy, flirting with the secretly taken Cooper. In the morning, Joe compliments Max, not knowing Max is internally fighting all the French voices in his head, thanks to Nathan. Le sigh. I hate both of these storylines.
But you know what I love? Captain Sandy is throwing Aesha a surprise bachelorette party. Three days ago, she reached out to Gael Cameron and the Season 4 Antibes crew. Soon, more than one familiar face is strolling into town!
But for now, Captain Sandy is focusing on Joe. She brings him to the wheelhouse and guides him as he drives the yacht out of anchor. She also admits, “I love Nathan dearly, but you can run the boat, Joe.” Speaking of, Nathan is coming back next charter.
The guests depart, leaving a solid tip of $21,000. Captain Sandy fills the crew in on the bachelorette party plans. Aesha squeals. But after, Joe tells Cooper and Max that, if Nathan returns and shows him no appreciation, while also messing “up everything that I’ve done, I’m gonna absolutely flip my lid.”
Gael Cameron, Hannah Ferrier, and Anastasia Surmava return to Below Deck Med for Aesha’s bachlorette party

Captain Sandy greets Nathan and Gael at Aesha’s bachelorette dinner. Nathan needs to listen to his team and their feedback, she tells him. Then, she shows Nathan pictures of a finally clean laz (storage locker) under Joe’s leadership. “That was my request,” Nathan says, taking full credit.
After a long, awkward pause, Captain Sandy says, “You guys will have a conversation.” Back at the yacht, the crew piles into a party van. And back at the party, Hannah and Anastasia Surmava reappear on our screens!
As soon as Aesha sees them, she weeps. I did too, because what a full-circle moment this is for so many Below Deck Med fans. Time has healed all wounds, Captain Sandy and Hannah explain, and also, Anastasia works in finance now. And neither of these women misses the yachting industry.
Down the table, Max asks Nathan about that text. In his confessional, a smiling Nathan says he still doesn’t trust Joe. Beautifully, a server arrives with individual cups of noodles, putting the focus back where it belongs, on Aesha. Shortly after, Nathan heads back to his rental with Gael.
Hannah and Max met outside of filming. He was drawn to her “boobies,” but nothing happened. The same can’t be said for Joe, though. Joe is humping a doll in the van.
“These new yachties need to be locked in a zoo and studied,” Hannah laughs. Then, she and Anastasia head back to their hotels.
Max gets a shocking text from his dad

Back on board, Max gets a text from an unknown number. It says, “Max, I need you.” In the morning, he gets another text. This one says, “Max? Please.”
Nathan returns, not 100% healed, so he’ll be delegating a lot. Then, he asks for feedback. When Joe says they “built a little system,” Nathan smiles, but in his confessional, he admits it feels like a “little jab.”
“His attitude shows that he’s not in it for the team. He’s in it for himself,” Nathan adds. Fittingly, a literal storm is rolling into town during the next charter. But the biggest storm has just arrived on Max’s phone.
“Max. Please call me. It’s your father. I need you. I am trapped in Tunisia,” his dad says, and “I need money, or I will be hurt.”
Max calls his dad for the first time in years. He explains that his dad was “enrolled into, like, a criminal organization of laundering money.” Max confides in Captain Sandy and Aesha, crying.
Max will do for his father what his father never did for him: help. That means leaving for Libya tomorrow, where travel warnings are at their highest. Understandably, Captain Sandy and Aesha are extremely worried, and they try to talk him out of this. Episode 12 ends on a tense TO BE CONTINUED … note.
Below Deck Mediterranean continues Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock.
