I’ve worked for TUI for 35 years and been on holiday 1 place 17 times | Travel News | Travel

An expert has named his favourite place to holiday, Gary, a TUI travel advisor in Colchester, appeared in a social media video for the company, which he has worked for for more than 35 years in over 25 destinations worldwide, from Spain to Brazil.

He said: “Here is why Turkey is my number one destination. You can’t beat Turkey, the food, the culture, the people, the beaches, it’s amazing! I actually worked a season for TUI over 30 years ago in Marmaris and I absolutely fell in love with the country. I’ve been back then over 17 times on my own holidays. Well, there’s plenty of great hotels in Turkey. If you want a romantic break then want to go for the TUI Blue Side which is a small, quaint hotel with excellent service adults only on the beach.

“For families I’d recommend the Trendy Lara which has got everything inside from restaurants, bars and it’s great for all the family with loads to do.

“It’s the TUI Blue Grand Azur which is in Marmaris.

“The General Manager, Sharon, and her team take the service to another level. Fantastic hotel in one of the best locations you just can’t beat it.

“There’s loads to do in Turkey, you’ll find it’s not all about hotels and resorts, there’s loads to discover whether it’s a boat trip, visiting somewhere like the ancient city of Ephesus or just wandering through the local markets, that’s where you really get a feel for the place.”

A viewer commented: “I don’t know you Gary but I think your fabulous.”

Another wrote: “Literally the best advert ever. Great work Gaz.”

Someone else added: “Turkey is on my bucket list, I bet Gary could give me some tips!”

A different person questioned his choice.

They wrote: “Gary seems like a legend. But I maybe the only one to say that Turkey is totally overrated.”

Another viewer simply said: “Greece is better.”

A different customer wrote: “We go Greece every year and always go with Tui, it’s got to the point the staff know what we want when we walk in the door.”
