Kate Middleton’s Strict Home Rule Makes Royal Privilege Take a Back Seat — Report

Royal privilege apparently comes with boundaries in Kate Middleton’s home. The Princess of Wales is said to be teaching her children that titles “do not excuse bad behavior.” According to a report, her parenting approach places kindness, honesty, and emotional security ahead of academic success or royal status. In fact, it is believed Prince William also shares her view as they raise their three children.

Kate Middleton’s parenting approach towards kids is backed by Prince William, per source

Kate Middleton, as per RadarOnline, has established clear rules for family life as she raises her three children with Prince William. The approach is said to be less about privilege and achievement and more about shaping the children into considerate and emotionally secure adults.

Much of that thinking reportedly comes from her own childhood. Middleton has previously spoken about the lessons passed down by her parents. She said values such as kindness, respect, and honesty have remained “central” to her throughout her life.

The mom-of-three has also made it clear that success is not only measured through traditional areas. In her view, how children treat others can be “just as important as excelling at maths or sport.”

It appears emotional support sits at the center of the family’s home life, too. During a 2023 conversation with radio host Roman Kemp, Middleton explained that parenting is not about the number of toys children own or how many trips they take. Instead, she pointed to the importance of having supportive adults around them.

That philosophy seemingly extends to keeping everyday family routines intact. William has previously described his family unit as “normal,” despite their extraordinary circumstances. The couple have also reportedly remained involved in school routines and their children’s activities.

Still, giving the children a normal upbringing has its limits. Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are growing up under constant public interest. Their future roles also mean royal duties will eventually become part of their lives.

According to a source cited by RadarOnline, however, Middleton does not want those responsibilities to overshadow basic behavior. “Kate has certain rules about family life that she simply will not compromise on,” the insider said. They claimed that the children are taught that “titles and privilege do not excuse bad behavior.”

The source further alleged that the future king is “completely behind that approach.” Their home is intended to be a safe environment where the children can talk about their worries, make mistakes, and feel comfortable being themselves.
