Prince Harry’s Feelings After UK Return Are Not What Friends Expected — Expert

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle returned to the UK with their children in August, but royal journalist Charlotte Griffiths claims the Duke of Sussex may not be feeling as positive about the move as some of his friends had hoped. Speaking on The Royalist podcast, Griffiths said Harry remains angry with the institution, even as the family settles into life in Britain.

Expert suggests Prince Harry feels ‘angry’ after UK return

King Charles’ letter swiftly squashed any hopes that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle remain non-working members of the Royal Family and operate in a private capacity. The correspondence, sent through the Lord Chamberlain, reiterated that the couple would not resume official royal duties or use their HRH styles. It also emphasized that their charitable work is undertaken privately.

While not being a working royal was not a shocker for Harry, the “private citizen” label has allegedly annoyed him. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly prefer to be referred to as “public figures.” Friends who were excited about Harry’s UK return are allegedly disappointed that the younger prince is “angry” again. During an episode of The Royalist podcast, The Daily Mail’s royal expert Charlotte Griffiths said, “Well, I can tell you his head is exactly where it was pretty much in 2020 when he left.”

She continued, “That’s been so dispiriting for friends of mine on his outer circle and some in his inner circle, who said they were sort of hoping that Harry would come back to the UK and there’d be this new bright-eyed, bushy-tailed, possibly that tail between his legs, Prince Harry feeling contrite, friendly, warm and fuzzy. And that is not the case. He’s angry. He’s definitely infuriated with the institution, just as he ever was.” The reason behind the Sussexes’ UK return is still unclear. However, they seem to plan to live there for an extended period, considering their kids have been enrolled in a British school.
