An update for Apple Invites is making it better for users to create invitations and to relive their events in high resolution, with the iPhone app tapping into some of the features of iOS 27.
The introduction of a new operating system version usually is accompanied by updates to Apple’s apps to best take advantage of any new features it includes. With iOS 27 now out on iPhones, Apple Invites has undergone the same treatment.
The update to version 1.12.0 released on September 30 includes three main feature changes, alongside the usual bug fixes and performance improvements.
The first is that Shared Albums now support full-resolution sharing, so party participants can share images from the event with each other without the images being made smaller. This applies both to users with Apple devices and those who do not but have been invited to the party.
Image Playgrounds was previously used to generate backgrounds, but that too has been updated. This includes adopting the new photorealistic options, accessible in the normal version of Image Playgrounds too.
Lastly, Apple has made it easier to verify guests’ email addresses. While previously they had to enter a code, the verification emails now include a link that can be tapped to do the same thing.
Previous updates include a June change enabling emoji replies and a confetti animation.
Apple Invites is free, weighs in at 113MB, and requires iOS 26.0 or later.
