Several fresh faces were recently added to the star-studded cast of an upcoming docuseries, elevating the already-anticipated project to fresh heights. Included in the new additions is a Game of Thrones staple who’s set to be reunited with former co-star Jason Momoa.
Momoa was among the teased cast of A Roadmap To Happiness when the project was first announced at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival. He’s one of several popular stars attached to the series, a list that now includes his former on-screen spouse, Emilia Clarke. Momoa and Clarke starred alongside each other in HBO’s Game of Thrones as Khal Drogo and Daenerys Targaryen, respectively.
Joining the cast alongside Clarke is two-time Marvel star Josh Brolin, who played Cable in the second Deadpool release and Thanos across several Avengers films. He and Clarke will join author and presenter Darin Olien as he voyages to “different corners of the world in search of the happiest people on Earth, exploring what constitutes happiness in different cultures,” according to a brief description of the docuseries.
A lineup of talented stars will accompany Olien across different legs of his journey, as he seeks to identify different approaches to happiness across various cultures. Clarke will join him in Portugal — its capital, Lisbon, was named number one on BookRetreats‘ Holiday Happiness Index, a privately compiled list of “happiest holiday destinations.”
Brolin, meanwhile, will close out the series in Finland, “a country consistently ranked among the happiest in the world,” according to Deadline. Also among the destinations targeted in A Roadmap to Happiness are Denmark, New Zealand, and Vermont. Olien seeks to identify and outline a path to attaining happiness as exemplified by some of the happiest communities across the globe.
“When people have the opportunity, when they have some of the pillars of happiness that we get into, if they have access to nature, if they have access to good health, if they have prosperity and security and freedom, and many other things that it seems to lend itself to this foundation that allows people to express that level of happiness.”
Clarke and Momoa likely won’t appear on-screen together, given the format of Olien’s series, but fans of their pairing in Game of Thrones will still get to enjoy knowing that the pair of Hollywood powerhouses are working on the same project.
