Brad Pitt’s 155-Minute Near-Perfect Action Blockbuster Is Officially a 300-Day Streaming Smash Hit

Brad Pitt‘s biggest box office hit ever has officially proven that its success was no fluke. Released last year, the film grossed $634 million on its way to becoming a bona fide blockbuster and easily surpassing the previous record-holder, World War Z. Its achievements extended to the 98th Academy Awards, where it was nominated for four Oscars, including Best Picture.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick), Pitt’s thrilling feature titled F1 sees him play a gifted Formula One driver whose promising career was derailed by a devastating crash in the 1990s. Returning to the sport 30 years later for one last shot at glory, he’s paired with Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), an ambitious young rookie who’s eager to prove that he belongs in the upper echelon of drivers.

Also starring Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, and Javier Bardem, F1 definitely enjoyed tremendous success during its theatrical run, but it’s also achieved another milestone on streaming. Since debuting on Apple TV on Dec. 12, 2025, Pitt’s spectacular action thriller has been in the Global Top 10 for 312 days. Per Flix Patrol, it currently sits at #4 worldwide, and at #7 in the U.S. charts, and there’s no reason to think it won’t eventually reach the one-year mark given the movie’s momentum.

Brad Pitt’s ‘F1’ Is a Near-Perfect Movie

Combining high-speed racing, spectacular crashes, personal rivalries, and a classic underdog story, F1 is basically Top Gun: Maverick, but with cars. That’s not a dig at the movie, because the formula worked well for Kosinski and Tom Cruise, so why not replicate it with Pitt? Nothing wrong with that at all.

In fact, it worked so well that, like Cruise’s legacy sequel, F1 also became a near-perfect movie on Rotten Tomatoes. Top Gun: Maverick holds an audience score of 99%, while Pitt’s movie is rated 97% on the Popcornmeter. Called by viewers everything from “awesome” to “very realistic and action-packed,” it’s easy to see why F1 has been trending on streaming for so long, but now the question becomes: Where’s the sequel?

Will ‘F1’ Ever Get a Sequel?

Given the fact that it made so much money and has been a massive hit on streaming, you’d think that Apple would want to fast-track a sequel to F1, but the company has stopped short of giving official confirmation. While Apple’s senior vice president of services, Eddy Cue, said that he’s “hopeful” another movie will get made, that’s not the same as saying the sequel to F1 has been given the green light.

For his part, producer Jerry Bruckheimer has gone on record saying that yes, a sequel is being worked on, but again, that’s not the same as confirmation. Things could easily fall apart in these early stages of development, so until it’s formally announced, it’s safe to say that the follow-up to Pitt’s massive action hit remains up in the air.
