Fans of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills knew that something good was coming to the franchise when they first met Garcelle Beauvais. The actor joined the cast in 2020 during Season 10 and hasn’t looked back. The mother of three comes across as extremely level-headed, especially when all hell is breaking out around the other women. While I have always loved Garcelles as an addition, Season 10 proves that we need to protect the Bravoleb at all costs because she is perfect.
Garcelle Beauvais confronts Reba
For years, Sutton Stracke has been talking about the lack of love between her and her mother, Reba. But on a recent trip to Augusta, Garcelle wanted to make sure her friend’s worries didn’t fall on deaf ears. With permission from Sutton, the Coming to America actor took it upon herself to have a serious conversation with Reba. And even though she wasn’t well received she still tried her best to take care of her friend. I appreciate Garcelle’s intentions and genuinely believe she came from a good place. But Reba was never gonna be receptive to her message.
While on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show, Garcelle admitted she was taken aback by Reba’s response. “I was surprised by her candor,” Garcelle admitted “Sutton had warned me, but I thought I came very soft, saying, ‘I love your daughter, we’re such good friends.’ But she’s like, ‘That is none of your business.’” What made Garcelle a star in that moment was when she praised Reba for just being herself. The RHOBH star noted, “But I really enjoyed Reba because she stayed true to who she is no matter what, whether we were being nice, it didn’t matter.”
Garcelle Beauvais is coming for Bozoma Saint John
In the July 4th-themed episode, Garcelle had enough of Bozoma Saint John being “Dorit’s spokesperson” and told her so. The comments were a breath of fresh air since the newbie has been riding extremely hard for Dorit Kemsley. While Sutton most definitely overreacted and should have just left the party, Boz jumped in without knowing the full history behind the argument. Again, while on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show, Boz doubled down. She told fans, “You’re in Dorit’s house, and she’s over there, and everybody’s over here with Sutton, who’s trying to leave.”
She added, “If she’s trying to leave, let her go. I don’t understand why we’re sitting around trying to convince her to stay. She don’t wanna stay.” However, Garcelle was doing what any good friend would do in that situation and comforting her genuine friend. Last season, Sutton was attacked for her drinking, and it was clearly a sore subject. Dorit knew that and made an ill-timed joke. I appreciate how Garcelle isn’t just letting the newbie slide by. I would like to see Garcelle eventually bond with Boz as I think both are the truth seekers in the group.
Garcelle Beauvais is the friend RHOBH needs
No matter what you say about Garcelle, one thing is clear. She is a great friend to have in your corner. Garcelle is the type of companion who will call you out on your sh*t but also be the first one at your door with food when you’re sick. However, some cast members like Boz and Erika Jayne feel she is hypocritical when defending Sutton. But I would argue that Garcelle is just pointing out a significant injustice. More than once, Sutton has been the punching bag for Erika and Dorit.
Erika had no time for Sutton, who often questioned her divorce from Tom Girardi. They were filmed arguing with Erika more often than that, bringing Sutton to tears. Dorit has also picked on Sutton. And even Crystal Kung Minkoff got a swing in there when she claimed she felt “violated.” Now, Garcelle has always defended Sutton, but perhaps it was because Sutton was incapable of defending herself. And no good person allows David to keep getting pushed down by Goliath. Garcelle has taken the center spot on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and, in my opinion, is the star of the show. I’m going to need to see her sitting to the left of Andy Cohen on the reunion couch, that’s for sure.
