QuickBooks Online customers can now accept in-person contactless payments quickly and securely using Apple’s Tap to Pay with iPhone feature.
The feature allows small and mid-market businesses to accept in-person contactless payments from anywhere using an iPhone and the Quickbooks Mobile or GoPayment iOS apps. Business owners will not need an additional card reader or point-of-sale hardware to complete the transactions.
The transactions are synced directly to the user’s QuickBooks Online account. By doing so, users can seamlessly manage payments and keep their books updated on a single platform.

“What makes Tap to Pay on iPhone unique for QuickBooks customers, is that it allows them to streamline their in-person payments and seamlessly connect them to their books and our end-to-end services, putting their full business finances all in one place.”
QuickBooks customers will be able to accept all forms of contactless payment, including Apple Pay and other digital wallets, as well as any tap-to-pay-enabled credit or debit cards. It also offers reduced fees compared to keyed-in payments.
Apple’s Tap to Pay on iPhone technology uses iPhone’s built-in features to keep business and customer data secure. Apple doesn’t store card numbers or transaction information on the device or servers during payment processing.
Tap to Pay on iPhone rolls out in stages for QuickBooks customers starting Tuesday, March 11, and will be available for all QuickBooks Online customers in the U.S. with a Quickbooks Payments plan added to their subscription. All users should have the feature within the coming weeks.
