We say: In 2018, New York Magazine’s Jonathan Chait spit out thousands of words suggesting Trump might have been a Russian asset as far back as 1987.
“The unfolding of the Russia scandal has been like walking into a dark cavern,” he wrote ominously.
“Every step reveals that the cave runs deeper than we thought.”
Turns out there was never even a shred of evidence of Trump-Russia collusion, as Special Counsel John Durham found.
Chalk it up to the mag’s bias — or maybe a cry for better mental-health services for one of its writers.
This tweet:
We say: Even after the Durham report suggested FBI and media complicity in the Russia hoax, left-wing outlets like the AP continue to play down its significance. Indeed, from the AP’s tweet, you’d never know Durham found the FBI had no evidence to warrant a probe, ignored “exculpatory” evidence and everyone — from Hillary Clinton to then-veep Joe Biden to President Barack Obama — was in on it.

We say: Left-wing media can’t wait to write Fla. Gov. Ron DeSantis’ political obituary.
On May 5, The New York Times claimed the GOPer, who hasn’t even entered the 2024 race for prez, had “fallen flat on the national stage.”
The Guardian said he’s “flaming out.”
Yet by Saturday, the Gray Lady conceded DeSantis was “impressive” in Iowa, noting his “successful political events.”
Those lefty outfits sure must hate it when reality disproves their wishful-thinking narratives.
This slur:
“Elon Musk doesn’t understand George Soros — or Magneto — but he’s great at antisemitism”
— The Forward, Tuesday
We say: For the Forward, anyone who criticizes far-left, pro-criminal billionaire George Soros must be anti-Semitic, because, after all, Soros is Jewish. (Though bashing Sheldon Adelson, a Jewish billionaire on the right, is fine.)
Musk was comparing Soros to the villainous Marvel Comics character Magneto, who, like the billionaire, is a Jewish Holocaust survivor.
He claimed Soros “hates humanity” and aims to “erode the very fabric of civilization” (perhaps because he’s such a big supporter of law-breakers?).
You can disagree with Musk, but it’s a bit low to slur him as anti-Semitic, as the Forward does, based on a silly tweet.
This column:
“The Manufactured Panic Over Biden’s Age”
— The New York Times, May 10
We say: Americans aren’t concerned about President Biden’s age because he’s 80 and shows troubling evidence of mental decline, the Times’ Charles M. Blow wants you to think.
No, their concern is all “manufactured” — driven by the media and activists on the right who hype the issue and drive up polls.
Give us a break!
There’s a reason why Uncle Joe works such short days, holds so few press conferences vs. his predecessors and, when he does, often spouts incoherent rhetoric.
Indeed, he’s already the oldest prez in US history; he’d be 86 at the end of a second term.
That’s surely going to be a matter of concern to many Americans, hype or not.
