Bad Bunny has entered the ring. But wait, here comes his opponent… another Bad Bunny?
In a teaser video — shared on Wednesday (Oct 18) — playing on the fact that the Latin music sensation is set to play double duty this weekend as host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live, Benito goes head to his head with his own clone in a hilarious war of words. It begins with Bunny No. 2 bursting into the room and interrupts an on-set interview with Bunny No. 1, after which the Bunnies resort to trading insults back and forth in both English and Spanish.
“I’ve got a ‘Weekend Update’ for you, amigo: you suck!” says Bad Bunny No. 2, dressed in an intimidating leather jacket and carrying a huge, WWE championship belt over his shoulder.
“Shut up, ugly!” retorts Bunny No. 1, to which No. 2 quips: “Please, you put the ‘L’ in SNL.”
“I’m gonna break your face, a–hole!” replies No. 1 in Spanish after requesting: “Please, turn on my subtitles… because this idiot doesn’t know how to read.”
The teaser comes just a few days ahead of the “Where She Goes” musician’s hosting debut on the comedy series, which returned for season 49 Saturday (Oct. 14). The premiere was hosted by Pete Davidson and featured musical guest Ice Spice, with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce both making surprise cameos in the episode.
Last week, Benito — who previously appeared as a guest on SNL in 2021 — celebrated the release of his fifth studio album Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana, which quickly became 2023’s most-streamed album in a single day on Spotify. The record serves as a followup to the singer-rapper’s blockbuster 2022 album Un Verano Sin Ti, which topped the Billboard 200 for 13 weeks.
