Hawk’s Elton John Night Performances & Clues

On The Masked Singer season 10 Elton John Night, Hawk sang a rousing rendition of “Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting).” His spirited performance included dancing. He really got the crowd going. Hawk’s clue package began with him staring up at a full moon in a desert. He said, “As a young bird, I was always hanging out with adults, and grew up pretty fast into the family business.” The words, “Masked Singer Hawkpocalypse” then flashed on the screen in bright yellow letters, with a red animated hawk flying within them.

Hawk was then shown walking alone on an empty road. He continued, “But, around other birds my age, I was super shy, closed-off. I felt alone, like a total reject. Until, one day I heard a sound that changed my life in a blink of an eye: heavy guitar chords blaring from my speakers that got my teen heart beating.” Hawk then stood in front of speakers blaring rock music. He went on to say, “This fast, raw music blew up my world, and the fallout? Boards, brawn, and bruises.” An open treasure chest filled with riches was then shown, alongside a candelabra with no candles.

Hawk then walked up to a tour bus that had a replica of his mask on the front of it. He said, “I built my own voice in my own way. I had the time of my life touring.” A postcard that said, “Greetings from New York,” was shown under the windshield wiper. Hawk continued, “I found my power in grimy buses and hot parking lots. I’d never been happier among my clique.” He was then shown playing a guitar chord as fire came out of the top of the instrument. Hawk concluded his clue package playing the guitar on top of the speakers, saying, “And I realized being a reject is totally fine by me.”

After Hawk’s The Masked Singer performance, another clue about him was revealed. It was a photograph of Miley Cyrus. Hawk explained, “Just like the great Elton John, I too have collaborated with Miley Cyrus, and I LOVED every second of it.” Later in the episode, Hawk went into the Smackdown versus Royal Hen. They sang, “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart.” The panelists chose Hawk to move on, while Royal Hen was revealed to be Billie Jean King.

Hawk’s Instagram Clue

In an Instagram post, The Masked Singer gave some more clues about Hawk. The clip began with Hawk playing an electric guitar on top of a building, while the words, “You’ve seen Hawk in the city leaving his mark,” flashed on the screen. Hawk was then seen dancing on a city street in front of lit up skyscrapers. The words, “Some say saving the day is his trademark,” were written on the screen as he flew over the city.

As he passed by a giant full moon, it said, “His eyes big and pretty, stare if you dare.” A giant brown eye then appeared. As Hawk sang on a stage in front of a crowd of fans, the words said, “He’s ready to rock, without a care.” Hawk was then was shown posing on the city street. He then launched into the air like a rocket, as the words, “Or a scare,” appeared in the smoke he left behind.

Hawk’s Harry Potter Night Performances & Clues

On Harry Potter Night, Hawk sang an exciting version of “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” by The Police. He began his clue package referencing his victory in the Smackdown versus Billie Jean King’s Royal Hen. He said, “I can’t believe I came out on top in that epic Battle of the Birds. Getting to let loose felt really magical. And these days, I try to find magic wherever I can.”

Hawk next appeared in a large library. He went on to say, “Not too long ago, someone close to me lost her battle with cancer. She was my support system and my best friend.” A stethoscope was then shown. Hawk continued, “After she passed, nothing seemed to matter. I sunk into a deep well of loneliness and depression.” A medallion with the word “TEEN” was then shown, which was then marked with three slashes.

Hawk was then shown looking out a window at the full moon. He said, “I realized she wouldn’t want me to live my life this way, so I finally opened up about my feelings and got help.” A book with bones and the words, “DON’T OPEN,” in shining red letters was then shown. As the pages of the book flipped, he said, “I’ve learned that, while the pain will never go away, it lessens.”

The book then glowed yellow, and the words, “I will always love you, come see. Mama Hawk,” lit up on a page. Hawk then looked through the window with a telescope, and saw a constellation of a Hawk in the night sky. He concluded with, “And now I hope to inspire others that no matter how dark things may get, there’s always a way to find some light again.”

When Hawk finished singing, Robin commented that he looked like he was having more fun than anybody else. The Harry Potter Sorting Hat then sorted Hawk into Ravenclaw, stating, “Ah, yes! A ready mind! You belong in Ravenclaw!” Hawk explained his connection to the Harry Potter house, saying, “It makes a lot of sense than I’m Ravenclaw because I was a good student. Hawk’s Identity

Tyler Posey Smiling

The Masked Singer panelists had many predictions for Hawk’s identity. Ken thought he might be Cole Sprouse because Cole’s show, The Suite Life With Zack & Cody, had a crossover episode with Miley’s show, Hannah Montana. Nicole said that she was stuck on Hawk’s moves and how he worked the stage, and his “sweet air guitar.” She also used the “fallout” clue to guess that Hawk might be Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy. Robin didn’t recognize Hawk’s voice, but used the moon, pirate treasure chest, and air guitar to come up with Goonies star Corey Feldman. Ken also mentioned Austin Butler, who guest starred on Hannah Montana.

On Harry Potter Night, Robin thought that Hawk was Ryan Phillippe, while Ken theorized that he was Andrew Garfield. Nicole guessed that he was Green Day frontman, Billie Joe Armstrong. Before he was unmasked, the Masked Singer panelists gave their final guesses. Robin stuck with Ryan Phillippe, while Jenny guessed that he was Chad Michael Murray. Ken wondered if he was Cole Sprouse, while Nicole continued to believe that he was Billie Joe.

However, in the end, Hawk turned out to be someone none of the Masked Singer panelists guessed: actor and musician Tyler Posey. Hawk’s clues told the story of his life and career. There were many clues that referred to Tyler’s starring role as high school student Scott McCall on the MTV television series, Teen Wolf. The full moon and the word teen with slash marks reference his role as the werewolf.

The Hawkpocalypse clue most likely refers to Tyler’s role on Now Apocalypse, which aired for one season on Starz in 2019. The Instagram “saving the day” clue references his voice role of Dante Pertuz/Inferno in the Marvel Rising animated series. As a child, Tyler appeared in the film, Maid in Manhattan, which explains the “Greetings from New York” postcard.

Tyler’s Miley Cyrus clue is a reference to his role on the show, Doc, which aired from 2001-2004 on Pax TV. It starred Miley’s father, Billy Ray Cyrus, as well. Miley also appeared on the show in three episodes. Tyler has revealed that Miley was his first kiss and his first girlfriend. Tyler’s clue about the family business referred to the fact that his father is actor John Posey.

Tragically, Tyler’s mother, Cyndi Terese Garcia-Posey, passed away in December 2014 after a more than four-year battle with breast cancer. The fifth season of Teen Wolf was dedicated to her. In addition, Tyler has played in several bands including Disappearing Jamie, PVMNTS, and Five North. The latter two bands are pop-punk rock bands.

Tyler soared throughout his time as Hawk on The Masked Singer season 10. His performances were fun and energetic, and really got the crowd going. He stumped the panel, which is always exciting to see during a reveal. Tyler will be remembered as Hawk for a long time to come on The Masked Singer.

The Masked Singer airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on FOX.
