Paddy Pimblett bats down ‘stupid’ callout from ‘old’ Rafael dos Anjos — ‘Focus on who you’ve got to fight’

Paddy Pimblett is (still) undefeated inside the Octagon.

“The Baddy” racked up his fifth straight win under the UFC banner by outpointing former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson as part of the UFC 296 pay-per-view (PPV) event last weekend in Las Vegas.

Former 155-pound titleholder, Rafael dos Anjos, was not impressed.

“Pimblett is terrible,” the Brazilian wrote on Twitter. “I would beat this kid without a fight camp.”

Those remarks didn’t sit well with “The Baddy.”

“He’s another legend, former champ, just like Tony,” Pimblett said at the UFC 296 post-fight press conference. “RDA is very good. What the f*ck is he mentioning me for then? Stupid bastard. Focus on who you’ve got to fight. But, yeah, everybody’s going to mention me, aren’t they? And it’s just because of like, the little thing around my name and the fact that I’ve got so many followers. That’s what it is, but as I say, I wouldn’t disrespect RDA. He’s a former champ, one of the future legends of the sport. But he’s another one that’s getting a bit old now. And if he wants me to take him out, I will.”

That might take awhile.

The 39 year-old Dos Anjos must first get through lightweight “Gamer” Mateusz Gamrot as part of the UFC 299 pay-per-view (PPV) event on March 9 in Miami, his return to lightweight after coming up short against Vicente Luque at UFC Vegas 78 last August.

Pimblett remains unbooked … for now.
