8 Burning Questions The Legend Of Vox Machina Season 3 Needs To Answer

Summary

  • Season 3 of The Legend of Vox Machina will likely address the reunion and improved relationship between Scanlan and his daughter Kaylie.
  • The timing may be right in season 3 for Keyleth and Vax to finally be together, as their fate in the battle against the Chroma Conclave is uncertain.
  • Members of Vox Machina may face death in season 3 as they confront their toughest opponents yet, and defeating the Chroma Conclave won’t be easy.

The Legend of Vox Machina season 2 ended on a cliffhanger, which means there are some burning questions that season 3 needs to answer. Based on Critical Role’s live-streamed tabletop role-playing game (RPG) campaign, the animated show follows a group of unlikely heroes as they defeat Tal’Dore’s fiercest enemies. The first two seasons of The Legend of Vox Machina were a massive success with audiences and critics alike, so it stands to reason that season 3 will be a highly anticipated release.

Prime Video announced the renewal of The Legend of Vox Machina season 3 before season two of the show aired. So far, no announcement has been made as to the exact premiere date of The Legend of Vox Machina season 3. The Legend of Vox Machina season 1 premiered in January 2022 and season 2 was released a year later in January 2023. It is likely that The Legend of Vox Machina season 3 will also have a January premiere date next year. The Legend of Vox Machina season 2 ended on an intriguing twist, so season 3 will likely focus on the battle between Vox Machina and the Chroma Conclave.

8 Will Scanlan And Kaylie Reunite?

Season 3 Must Reveal If Kaylie Forgives Him

Scanlan is infamous for being a ladies’ man, so it was only a matter of time before his lifestyle caught up with him. Kaylie is Scanlan’s daughter who he had no idea existed until she confronted him. Scanlan was not what Kaylie thought he was. She decided he wasn’t worthy enough to be in her life, and the two parted ways. Kaylie had a somewhat positive effect on Scanlan, and he spent the remaining days after her departure trying to be better and less of a coward. The Legend of Vox Machina season 3 may present an opportunity for Scanlan and Kaylie to reunite and maybe have an improved relationship.

7 Will Keyleth And Vax Be Together?

Season 3 Could Finally Be The Right Time For Them

It’s always been clear that Keyleth and Vax have chemistry, but there hasn’t been a right time for them to be together. Things have become more complicated for the pair now that they have to fight the Chroma Conclave, and Vax’s future with the Raven Queen is unknown. When Vax let Keyleth know how he felt about her, she turned him down despite having feelings for him, as there was too much going on in their lives at the time. The Legend of Vox Machina season 3 could be the opportune time for Vax and Keyleth to get together, seeing as their fate in the war is a mystery.

6 Will Any Member Of Vox Machina Die?

Not All The Members Of Vox Machina Can Survive The Fight

Legend of Vox Machina group shot

All the members of Vox Machina have had near-death experiences in the show’s first two seasons. Vex actually died when they were on a quest to find the Vestiges of Divergence. In The Legend of Vox Machina season 3, the team will be facing their toughest opponents to date. As defeating Brimscythe and Umbrasyl was difficult, season 3 of the show could see some members of Vox Machina meeting their maker. While the team now has all the Vestiges of Divergence, defeating the Chroma Conclave — especially Thordak — will not be an easy task.

5 Can Raishan Be Trusted?

Raishan’s True Intentions Must Be Revealed

Raishan first appeared in The Legend of Vox Machina season 2, when Keyleth encountered her in the cave where Brimscythe was hiding. Raishan and Thordak were the ones who formed the Chroma Conclave in order to bring doom to Tal’Dorei. In The Legends of Vox Machina season 2 finale, Raishan seemingly had a change of heart. She took the form of Preacher Yemmen and let Vox Machina know she was on their side because Thordak had become irrational. Seeing as Raishan is part of the Chroma Conclave, her intentions could be different from what she claims.

4 What Will The Storyline Of The Legend Of Vox Machina Season 3 Be?

Season 3 Could Introduce A New Villain

The Legend of Vox Machina season 1 started with Vox Machina defeating Brimscythe, then facing the vampire couple, the Briarwoods. The first season ended with the introduction of the Chroma Conclave, and season 2 continued the battle between Vox Machina and the dragons. Since the first season of the show featured different antagonists, there’s a possibility that The Legend of Vox Machina season 3 will introduce a new opponent after the Chroma Conclave is defeated. The Chroma Conclave is extremely powerful, but that does not mean all of season 3 will be focused on them as villains.

There are other ways the stoyline could go. The Legends of Vox Machina season 3 is a chance to show how each member of Vox Machina is becoming more powerful. Vox Machina now posses the Vestiges of Divergence, so the series can focus on what they do with the powerful weapons after defeating the Chroma Conclave. There are a variety of ways that The Legends of Vox Machina season 3 can dig further into the storylines of its heroes.

3 What Is Dr. Anna Ripley Planning?

Dr. Anna Ripley Teamed Up With Umbrasyl For A Reason

The Legend of Vox Machina villains

Dr. Anna Ripley is a genius who helped the Briarwoods put their plan in motion in The Legend of Vox Machina season 1. In season 2 of the series, Dr. Ripley teamed up with Umbrasyl to collect the Vestiges of Divergence. The unlikely alliance between the two villains raised the question of what Dr. Ripley was planning to do with the Vestiges of Divergence. After Umbrasyl was killed by Vox Machina, Dr. Ripley managed to escape without the heroes knowing that she was working with the dragon. Since Dr. Ripley is likely still alive, The Legend of Vox Machina season 3 can reveal what her plan was.

2 What Is Thordak’s True Motivation?

Thordak’s Goal Is A Mystery

Thordak from The Legend of Vox Machina in front of a burning city.

Thordak, the leader of the Chroma Conclave, is an ancient and powerful red dragon who is hellbent on destroying Tal’Dorei. Since he first appeared in The Legend of Vox Machina, his true motivation has been a mystery. Thordak used Umbrasyl to collect a vast amount of gold from the people of Tal’Dorei. Since Thordak wasn’t collecting the gold simply for greed, it begs the question of what he really planned to do with it. Vox Machina managed to defeat Umbrasyl because of the Vestiges of Divergence, but that didn’t seem to scare Thordak, probably because the gold he has collected will be used for a nefarious purpose.

1 What Are The Consequences Of Vax’s Deal With The Raven Queen?

The Raven Queen Clearly Wants Something From Vax

When Vex died while Vox Machina was trying to acquire the Raven Queen’s armor, Vax made a deal with the Raven Queen to exchange his life for Vex’s. The deal worked and Vex was brought back to life, but a deal like that can have unforseen consequences. Vax has called upon the Raven Queen when he is in need and has undeniably become stronger because of her armor, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that she won’t want something in return. Vax might have to spennd the rest of his life in servitude to the Raven Queen.
