Confirmation & Everything We Know

Summary

  • THEM season 2 will premiere in 2024, though a specific release date hasn’t been announced yet.
  • The series has been green-lit for two seasons, so more stories will continue to be produced.
  • Season 2 will feature a new cast of characters and explore different time periods and locations while maintaining the show’s Black horror themes.

THEM season 2 is officially on the way, and here’s everything currently known about the new anthology series. THEM premiered its first season, Covenant, on Amazon Prime in April 2021, and the story follows the Emory family as they move from North Carolina to an all-white neighborhood in Compton, CA, in the 1950s. Over the next ten days, the Emorys are plagued by horrors from their racist white neighbors and the apparitions in their new home.

Series creator Little Marvin drew upon the history of the post-war 1950s and the Great Migration in the United States to set the stage for the Emorys’ house of horrors. THEM’s incredible cast, including Deborah Ayorinde, Ashley Thomas, Alison Pill, and Shahadi Wright Joseph, bring the characters of the Compton neighborhood to life. While the story of the Emorys wrapped up at the end of season 1, there’s more in store for THEM season 2, even though the story itself won’t follow the same path. Here are the details so far.

Them Season 2 Latest News

Though the series has been green-lit for over a year, the latest news regarding the controversial horror series sees a release window for THEM season 2 finally established. Announced as part of Prime Video’s year ahead video presentation, it was revealed that THEM season 2 will premiere at some point in 2024. Though a more concrete release date hasn’t been established, it’s expected that the actual date will be dropped sometime soon.

Them Season 2 Is Confirmed

Amazon Prime green-lit an initial two-season order of THEM, so season 2 was already known before the first season even aired. It is yet to be determined whether the series will have any further seasons, but as an anthology, it shouldn’t be a problem to continually push out new stories.

Them Season 2 Production Status

Shahadi Wright Joseph as Ruby Emory in Them

While little is known about where THEM season 2 stands, it is known that the episodes are on the way. Amazon Prime Video announced that THEM season 2 would premiere some time in 2024, but the streamer hasn’t released anything more specific. Considering the length of time between seasons, the earliest THEM season 2 could arrive would be the middle of 2024.

Them Season 2 Cast

The Emory Family in Them

As THEM is a horror anthology series, similar in form to American Horror Story, the next season will move on to a new cast of characters. However, there is potential for certain characters from THEM: Covenant to reprise their roles if the story lends itself to a crossover. Even if the story takes place far from the events at the Emory house in Compton, certain entities introduced in the first season may make an appearance, though not necessarily with the same casting.

Them Season 2 Story Details

Melody Hurd as Gracie Emory in Them

THEM season 1 ended the saga of the Emorys, so season two will move on to a new story with new characters. There are no story details released for THEM season 2, but it may shift the time period and location to explore the show’s Black horror themes in a different setting. More details are upcoming about THEM season 2, but Little Marvin is sure to have another terrifying story in the works.
