At least 12 people have been killed and dozens injured after a smelter furnace explosion at a nickel factory in Indonesia, local media has reported.
The blast at Morowali industrial park on Sulawesi Island took place around 5.30am local time.
The explosion reportedly occurred during furnace maintenance.
Around 39 people were injured during the incident, Reuters said, citing a statement from the industrial estate’s management company.
