Wonka Hints That Willy’s Chocolate Could Kill Slugworth, Prodnose, & Fickelgruber

At the end of Wonka, the titular character gives Slugworth, Prodnose, and Fickelgruber altered versions of Hover Chocs. Hover Chocs typically make the person eating them float around in the air before returning back to the ground safely. Wonka says that he thinks the altered version of the chocolates will still have Slugworth, Prodnose, and Fickelgruber coming down after a bit. Viewers never get confirmation, though, if the three men were able to land safely, as the movie ends shortly after. This could mean that Wonka ultimately killed the Chocolate Cartel by having them float until they eventually reached outer space and could not breathe.

Wonka Killing The Chocolate Cartel Would Confirm That He Is A Villain

Calah Lane and Timothée Chalamet in Wonka

Though Wonka portrays the main character as an eccentric and fun-loving man who cares deeply about the people around him, this detail would confirm that he is actually a villain. The Chocolate Cartel wronged Wonka in multiple ways, including ruining his store, turning the police against him, and keeping his friend, Noodle, away from her family. Despite these wrongs, Wonka taking justice into his own hands by murdering them would make him a villainous character.

After the Chocolate Cartel was outed for their crimes in Wonka, it was more likely than not that they would be punished. The revelation of what they had done was made public, so there was an entire group of people who would be able to make sure they were held accountable. The police chief was also named in the book that detailed their crimes, which meant that it was unlikely that the department would be able to get away with covering up for the Cartel any longer. That means that there was no reason for Wonka to murder them, as justice was going to be served regardless.
