India stocks higher at close of trade; Nifty 50 up 0.18% By Investing.com

Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NSE, the gained 0.18%, while the index gained 0.03%.

The best performers of the session on the were Adani Enterprises Ltd (NS:), which rose 13.22% or 307.60 points to trade at 2,633.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Divi’s Laboratories Ltd. (NS:) added 3.61% or 118.00 points to end at 3,383.00 and Bajaj Finserv Ltd (NS:) was up 1.72% or 24.25 points to 1,437.25 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Ltd. (NS:), which fell 1.40% or 64.30 points to trade at 4,541.00 at the close. Tech Mahindra Ltd (NS:) declined 1.26% or 13.95 points to end at 1,090.50 and Grasim Industries Ltd (NS:) was down 1.19% or 20.40 points to 1,697.95.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BO:) which rose 1.75% to 1,437.55, Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:) which was up 1.07% to settle at 3,118.30 and ITC Ltd (BO:) which gained 1.00% to close at 429.00.

The worst performers were Tech Mahindra Ltd (BO:) which was down 1.21% to 1,091.10 in late trade, Titan Company Ltd (BO:) which lost 1.11% to settle at 2,682.90 and HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:) which was down 1.07% to 1,107.45 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1000 to 927 and 56 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1694 fell and 1691 advanced, while 108 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 0.28% to 12.60.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.99% or 19.50 to $1,957.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.61% or 0.44 to hit $72.49 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.58% or 0.44 to trade at $76.43 a barrel.

USD/INR was up 0.01% to 82.84, while EUR/INR fell 0.36% to 89.25.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 103.43.
