Killer of Killers’ Animated Film Gets Trailer and Release Date

Hulu has unveiled the first look at Predator: Killer of Killers, an all-new animated anthology film that will focus on three separate stories of warriors across time that will go up against the galaxy’s most dangerous hunter, the Predator. Directed by Prey filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg, Killer of Killers continues that film’s trend of dropping the Predator into different periods, with the animated film featuring segments during the era of the Vikings, feudal Japan, and World War II. While the Predator franchise is set to return to the theaters later this year, Predator: Killer of Killers will debut as a Hulu Original Film, like Prey did in 2022.

20th Century Studios revealed the first trailer for Predator: Killer of Killers and confirmed the film’s title. The trailer showcases three warriors facing off against different Predators across time. Josh Wassung serves as the co-director on Killer of Killers. The animated anthology will debut on Hulu on Jun. 6, 2025. Watch the trailer below to see the gorgeously animated violent action.

2025 is the Year of the Predator

2025 is set to be a big year for the Predator franchise. Following Predator: Killer of Killers, the franchise will make its return to the big screen with Predator: Badlands, set to be released on November 7, 2025. Badlands was also directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who worked on Killer of Killers at the same time. That film will star Elle Fanning and is set to take the franchise into the future and feature the first Predator protagonist. There are rumors that the Predator might play a role in FX’s upcoming Alien: Earth series after many fans thought they heard the movie monster’s iconic clicking sound in the trailer.

The 2nd Best ‘Predator’ Film Was Released in 2022 & It’s Streaming For Free Soon

The best ‘Predator’ film since the original will soon be streaming for free.

Rumors of Predator: Killer of Killers only emerged in October 2024 when it was reported that Trachtenberg was developing a secret Predator movie alongside Predator: Badlands. It was reported that the movie would be an animated anthology, but details remained secret until now. 20th Century Pictures likely wanted to keep the news of the movie a surprise until they released this trailer as a way to drop a surprise film on fans. This was similar to how Trachtenberg originally didn’t want to market Prey as a Predator movie, only for the reveal to come when audiences watched it. However, the fact that it was a Predator movie leaked online forced the marketing campaign to pivot.

While some fans are likely disappointed that Predator: Killer of Killers is another Predator film being sent straight to streaming as opposed to theatrical, it is likely that 20th Century Pictures didn’t want to risk oversaturating the market with two Predator films in theaters. Yet the fact that fans have now gotten three Predator films in just three years, two of them in the same year, is a drastic turn for the franchise that once only had two films followed by a 14-year gap between Predator 2 and Alien vs. Predator. Now, Killer of Killers can be a great summer event for fans to watch together at home, building up excitement for the release of Predator: Badlands later this year.
