Recently, Marvel’s latest THUNDERBOLTS featurette featured an action sequence by Florence Pugh, presumably one of the most insane stunts in MCU history-jumping off the second tallest building of this world. Duh, the internet has gone crazy over it.

Film Updates brought us the photos, and we can see Yelena Belova leaping, reminiscent of a rather literal leap of faith from its Burj Khalifa-complementing short sibling. No nets, no fear-just raw adrenaline. At least that’s how Marvel seems to want us to think.
Reactions? Oh, it’s all over the place. The best, perhaps, labels her as “female Tom Cruise” (thanks to @kruqia64 for making the link), while others outright accusing it of sheer CGI deceit. @LucindaAntwix did not mince her words to say “Fake. She’s a liar.” Harsh.
But not everyone is a skeptic. @Xeavi_1 named the stunt as “absolutely epic” while @benzi_ah pointed out the dedication it took to do or even attempt something like that. @jp_erif, on the other hand, made a darkly colloquial association with Black Widow’s past, stating, “What’s with black widows and heights, anyway? 💀😭” (Had any Vormir flashbacks?).
There is the part about CGI. @Termram didn’t buy it: “I only see CGI BS.” That had @boxofficebuz suggesting they should “open your eyes more, then,” heh. Oof. @D_Marlox, though, shrugged off the haters with, “The o film experts see big bad CGI. Oh no. Anyway! The mighty Florence served 🔥”
There is of course always that one person who simply wouldn’t care. @scoutz_ did just that, stating, “Not gonna watch this.” Sweet, dude.
Doesn’t the question still remain though: Is it really her jumping, or is it Hollywood magic? This is so because Marvel usually combines practical effects and CGI, so it’s most likely both ends of the spectrum in this case. Buzzing everyone at the moment is still what Marvel likes.
We all know one thing here-THUNDERBOLTS is heading to those movies whose drama behind the curtains is as dramatic as on stage. Be it stunts, drama, or just Florence Pugh defying gravity, this movie already struck gold in terms of hype.
Now we wait if the rest of the film will favor the stunt reel. Or maybe someone else from the cast will try to outdo her by jumping from space. Wouldn’t put it past Marvel at this point.

So, yes, stay tuned for more THUNDERBOLTS news. If the teaser already is this radical, chances are quite high even the entire movie will break the Internet.
