Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer was one of the biggest movies of 2023, and there are ways to watch it at home following its hit theatrical release. Grossing over $900 million at the box office, the film managed to reach surprising levels of success and far exceeded expectations. Oppenheimer broke several other records on its path to becoming one of 2023’s highest grossing movies. Not only was it a financial success, but reviews of the movie are overwhelmingly positive, cementing its status as one of the best cinematic experiences of 2023.
While a lot of Oppenheimer‘s triumphs come down to the Barbenheimer craze, there is no doubt the movie would have found success on its own due to the high quality and stacked cast. Nolan’s movie remained incredibly popular after the Barbie connections died down, leading to it earning 11 Oscar nominations. Whether someone has seen Oppenheimer‘s ending repeatedly in theaters or waited until they could watch the 3-hour R-rated biopic at home, the good news is several options exist for where to watch Oppenheimer.
Oppenheimer’s 3-Hour Runtime – When You Can Take A Bathroom Break
Oppenheimer has an epic 3-hour runtime that could challenge viewers’ bladders. Here is when to take a bathroom break during Christopher Nolan’s movie.
Oppenheimer Is Still Playing In Limited Theaters
Despite being released in July, Oppenheimer is still playing in select limited theaters. Given it was a classic IMAX experience, there were long waits to try and see the film in that format, giving it an element of longevity. The film is now only available in select theaters, but its staying power will remain in the lead-up to the 2024 Oscars. This included an early 2024 IMAX re-release to give audiences another chance to see Oppenheimer in 70mm IMAX. Even for those unable to make the limited showtimes, there are still regular showings to check out.
