There’s more and more coming out about Monica Garcia and how she found herself on Season 4 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. The now-fired Housewife set the Bravosphere on fire with her explosive personality and say-it-like-it-is demeanor.
Her biggest feuds were between co-stars Angie Katsanevas and Lisa Barlow. However, things blew up in Monica’s face during their final dinner in Bermuda. Veteran Housewife Heather Gay outed the freshman Bravo star for trolling the cast of RHOSLC online since August 2021.
In the now-viral monologue, Heather slammed the mother of four for lying about her past to get on the show. “This is how you know I’m telling the truth,” she told Monica. “I have your perfect formula. Receipts. Proof. Timeline. Screenshots. F*cking everything to prove that you are a f*cking bully and a f*cking troll and that you don’t deserve to be at this table or anywhere near any of us for the way you’ve treated us.”
Did Monica expose RHOSLC production?
Not only did Monica lie about her involvement with the Reality Von Tease Instagram account and her relationship with Jen Shah, but she also lied about shopping in Meredith Mark’s Salt Lake City boutique.
In an earlier season, there was a brief storyline surrounding Jen, the now-convicted felon, and one of her assistants allegedly stealing from Meredith’s store. During her epic takedown, Heather exposed Monica for being in the boutique when the clutch in question was stolen.
“That wasn’t me,” Monica said. “I didn’t f*cking steal shit,” before Meredith responded, “You were in my store Monica; it is on my security footage.”
“I didn’t say I wasn’t in your store,” Monica continued. “I didn’t steal from you.”
Meredith replied, “I’m not accusing you of stealing, but you said, ‘This is the first time I have been here.’”
Of course, during this moment, producers inserted a shady flashback of Monica’s “first” time in the store. But in a new interview with The Cut, Monica alleged the RHOSLC producers directed her to lie.
What is the TRUTH?
Getting right to the meat and bones here, Monica immediately owned her lies about previously being in Meredith’s store. “Okay, I said this at the reunion, and it didn’t get aired,” she began.
“When I pulled up to Meredith’s shop, production came up to me; they said, “Okay, we’re going to play this like you’ve never been here before.” And I said, “Well, I have been here before. I’ve been here with Jen.” And they were like, “It doesn’t matter. That’s not how we’re going to play it. We’re going to play it like it’s your first time here.”
Monica continued, explaining that Bravo chose not to air her statements at the reunion; however, “that’s the honest freaking truth.”
“I’ll sit here, and I’ll take it, and people call me a liar, but that’s what happened.”
Following the instantly iconic Season 4 finale, fans and watchers have wondered whether the jaw-dropping moment was planned. According to executive producer Andy Cohen, Bravo had zero knowledge of Reality Von Tease or Heather’s plan.
“I think she’d been thinking about it a lot. And I think she was fired up and upset and passionate,” he said.
