What’s Next For Tom Ellis?
Ellis will again team with his wife, Tell Me Lies co-creator Oppenheimer, on the upcoming series Second Wife. Described as a dark comedy, the story follows Sasha (American Horror Story star Emma Roberts), who moves to London after a devastating breakup and soon meets a divorced father (Ellis). However, once they impulsively get married, they learned there’s a lot that they can’t outrun. Both Roberts and Ellis will executive produce.
Ellis is also slated to appear in the Hulu adventure series Washington Black, based on the novel of the same name by Esi Edugyan, where he’ll play inventor Christopher Wilde. He likewise has a leading role in the Netflix romantic comedy Players, which debuts on February 14, and co-stars Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin) and Damon Wayans Jr (Happy Endings).
Ellis recently addressed the possibility of returning to Lucifer, saying that he would be open to doing a movie follow-up only if the script was good. The actor underlines the importance of not reviving the show just for financial reasons. While he has a lot of reverence for his breakout role as Lucifer Morningstar, he will also be keeping busy with shows like Tell Me Lies.
All episodes of Tell Me Lies are on Hulu.
