The video footage just dropped from Sarah Fields of Karmelo leaving prison walking beside activist Dominique Alexander-and oh, boy- Twitter has gone absolutely bananas. Karmelo is all dressed up in a suit and appears all formal in the video, but, oh the comments? Straight-up pure unfiltered chaos. Some are joking, some threatening violence, some just confused why in the world this guy got released.

So Joe Alaniz hit the ground running with: “I love how they put him in a suit. He probably just pulled his pants down off of his ass as soon as he got in the vehicle.” Classic. Gotta love how someone just assumes formal wear will break down while chaos-yes, that’s their username-didn’t go for that but went ahead and called Sarah a “pedophile lover,” tossing a link like it was some mic drop moment. Spoiler: It wasn’t.
This is real nuance on the dumpster fire, though, Ola Ola: “Am black and this is disheartening and will only worsen things for the black community.” Called the whataboutism to call because rallying behind someone accused of violent crime isn’t the flex some think it is. But of course, the nuance doesn’t hold for long in Twitter. John Shepard-went for sensing the coming doom: “Better lock your doors when the internet grid goes up, because that’s when the White man strikes back against you.” Yikes. Someone’s been watching a bit too many conspiracy thrillers.
And then the_EAqualiser, who just casually went and posted Karmelo’s so-called address? “Got Karmelo’s addy right here: 13414 Mercedes Ln Frisco Texas 75035.” Uh… that’s definitely not creepy at all. Meanwhile, Tentah Cull went nuclear with: “This waste of skin needs a boarding pass on the next flight south.” Subtle.
But the kicker? Rebecca’s question: “Is it common for someone to be charged with murder to be released from jail before a trial back into the community?” Fair enough. Too bad, though; the answers won’t exactly be in her favor.
The whole thread is a jumble of threats and bad takes along with just the occasional sound voice drowned out. Some call for violence (yes, 45Valk: “It’s okay, someone’s gonna pop him”), while others are just tired. Free_So_Cool summed it up pretty nicely: “I don’t care for either party!! Both are pretty shitty if you ask me.” Mood.
