Fallout’s Walton Goggins Hypes Season 2 “As Whole Other Level” In Major Filming Update

Fallout

season 2 gets a new story tease and filming update from star Walton Goggins. Based on the video game franchise of the same, the hit Prime Video series, which hails from creators Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner, was released last spring. Goggins stars in the show as The Ghoul, aka Cooper Howard, a mutant who travels across a post-apocalyptic U.S. with Lucy (Ella Purnell), a vault dweller. Following season 1’s critical and commercial success, Amazon confirmed that Fallout season 2 is coming, with filming reportedly starting last November.

In a recent interview with Complex, Goggins shares a new update on Fallout season 2, confirming that they’re “deep” into production. As for the story, the actor doesn’t let slip any specifics, but teases that the sophomore outing will feature some exciting surprises and deviations after season 1 set the ground rules and established the world. Check out his comment below:

“We’re deep into Season 2 of Fallout. Now that people understand what the world is, this story just takes it to a whole other level. I’ve been around a long time, and usually, a show that people are attracted to, with that license, the second season really starts cooking, right? That’s when some real magic can happen. It says a lot about a lot. It stays in these lanes of the tone that was kinda set but also veers outside of them in the most interesting ways.”

What This Means For Fallout Season 2

When The Show Could Return & What Has Been Revealed About The New Episodes

Though Fallout season 2 filming is seemingly moving along well behind-the-scenes, the show still doesn’t yet have a return date. If the production timeline for season 1 is any indication, audiences may not see season 2 until mid-2026, meaning the release date confirmation may still be a number of months away. Though filming on the new season will likely wrap up at some point this summer, the show’s sci-fi world means it needs a long post-production timeline to bring all the VFX to life.
