Marvel Comics’ newest iteration of The High Republic comic series has brought back The Ataraxia, the Jedi Order’s epic flagship. Having entered the third phase of the High Republic’s publishing initiative, various Star Wars novels and comics have been revealing the tragic fallout from the fall of Starlight Beacon thanks to the Nihil marauders. However, there are still glimmers of hope thanks to Jedi heroes such as Keeve Trennis.
As seen in The High Republic #3 by Cavan Scott, Jim Towe, and Marika Cresta, Master Keeve Trennis embarks on a new mission with the Jedi twins Ceret and Terec, supported by the Commander Republic Defense Coalition as well as Skarabda and the Hutt Clans. Tasked with recovering the Jedi’s iconic flagship known as the Ataraxia, the cruiser was originally stolen by the ex-Nihil Tempest Runner known as Lourna Dee during Starlight’s fall.
Engaging in an epic space battle, the odds were clearly against Lourna Dee who was attempting to flee the system in the stolen Jedi cruiser she’d pridefully renamed after herself.
How To Watch Star Wars Movies In Order
Here is how to watch all Star Wars movies and TV shows chronologically and in order of release, and how each fits into the Star Wars timeline.
Lourna Dee Stole The Ataraxia During Starlight’s Fall
Jedi Master Keeve Trennis Has Taken It Back
Keeve’s rivalry with Lourna Dee is quite personal. Having prevented Jedi Master Avar Kriss from killing Loura out of anger during the High Republic’s first publishing phase, there’s since been a level of guilt and responsibility on Trennis’ part for those who’ve been harmed and/or killed by Dee in the days since. To that end, successfully infiltrating The Ataraxia and ultimately defeating Lourna is a major win for the newly christened Jedi Master.
Now that the Ataraxia has been reclaimed, one would assume the victory will likely serve to renew hope in the Jedi’s ability to overcome the wave of darkness that has swept over the galaxy. After all, Marchion Ro and his Nihil walled off the entire sector of space now known as the Occlusion Zone, having planted devices known as “stormseeds” which prevent ships from entering the region at lightspeed. However, Keeve has other plans beyond taking The Ataraxia back to Coruscant and the Jedi Temple.
Keeve Has An Ulterior Motive For The Ataraxia
Her Real High Republic Mission Has Just Begun
Having been upgraded by Lourna Dee with one of the Nihil’s unique path drives, the Jedi flagship is now the perfect vessel to stage a rescue mission into the Occlusion Zone, which is exactly what Keeve intends to do along with Ceret and Terec. Not only can the cruiser help the worlds trapped by the Nihil, but it will also be the perfect ship to rescue and rally all the Jedi who have been stranded in the Occlusion Zone as well. As such, it’s evident that the adventures of The Ataraxia have only just begun in The High Republic timeline.
