Abel Tesfaye, also known as The Weeknd, cryptically tweeted DON’T CRASH, one of the artist’s classic stylistic sayings, and left a link with it, sending the social-media platform into a frenzy. The tweet contains a photo that has sent fans into a frenzy speculating what the Canadian star could be hinting at next.

The cryptic interpretation immediately put the fans into all sorts of different scenarios. Some thought it might be The Weeknd announcing new music, others said it could be for an acting thing, or maybe even a surprise tour announcement. It is not unusual for The Weeknd to subtly drop hints regarding what he is working on, so the vague post was no surprise; what was surprising was the utter chaos that followed right after in the comments section.
Zeus was soon to respond about the location: “Can u come to the Baltimore one?”. Nickylee29 later poured her heart out, pleading, “Please come to the Denver screening that would be epic omgggggggg #HURRYUPTOMORROW.” Real desperation here; fans other than Nickylee29 were hashtagging their cities in hopes of being seen.
With some timely reference, international fans also felt the heart-wrenching pang. JayysOGXO—Melancholy, to some—stated a consolation-wishing in a pattern woven between English and emotion: “You are crashing Asia XO heart but we’ll wait for May 16th.” From the May 16th reference, it looks like some info is circulating deep within the grapevine.
Disappointment would be another emotion in this thread. “THERE IS MORE TO THE WORLD THEN THE US AND CANADA YOU SLIMY MAN” was the lacerating comment going towards The Weeknd from Magikkxo. Ouch! Others, like Tshepiso Josh, were joining in with calls: “Abel, where’s South Africa????” From the good jokes to grumbling, quite easy to picture confusion lingering heavily.
Instead, Tech problems. “My promo codes don’t work,” poled Xxxquisiteeee, while Rissaa_Kayy stepped in with help among the chaos, saying to another who was confused, “Type in VIP nation into your email I couldn’t find mine either.” The struggle was real for those trying to buy whatever it is they were trying to sell.
Many fans happened to share some dark jokes. “too late alr crashed king,” said Jenna Snift, and CT Tha Great also posted a meme saying, “Where’s San Diego? Cuz we up!!” The energizing combination of replies gave life enough so the thread felt like a wild ride.
Along came a long one, wherein Jolene Barletta publicly thanked The Weeknd for his vigilance and artistry, stating, “Thank you for always staying vigilant with your music and surroundings as one of America’s greatest leading artists;” this was one of the almost most sincere statements found in there.
As has become almost customary with The Weeknd’s saying, the purpose to get fans charged up was certainly met. There is yet to be an actual sign as to whether new music, tours, or just plain something else await. What is for sure is that The Weeknd’s fan base is both willing and expectant. Just the replies alone say it all; whatever it is, the hype is out of this world.

Only time will tell. Nevertheless, if there’s a thing The Weeknd is known for, it’s that he never drops hints without major paybacks. By then, the Internet will be fixated on dissecting every single word, image, or vague post for a clue or two. And really? That’s half the fun.
