Following years of messy litigation, Kenya Moore and Marc Daly’s divorce is finalized. According to the Real Housewives of Atlanta vet, it feels good giving herself “permission to just live.”
“I’ve never given myself that before. Allowed myself the freedom to just let go and walk through life fully embracing every part of myself,” Kenya told People. “That’s what I want to do moving forward because I’m tired of holding myself back. This ‘next chapter,’ as I’m calling it, is all about flourishing, removing myself from those burdens and stepping into me.”
Kenya is no longer shouldering the burden of her divorce
As watchers saw on RHOA and The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, Kenya’s divorce from Marc was far from easy. But now that it’s over, she’s letting go of the emotional baggage that came from it.
“For years, I blamed myself for my divorce. In the same way I judged myself, that was my default,” she said. “But recently, I looked back at text messages between us, emails, [and] listened to voice recordings, and it finally hit me: It wasn’t me. So I said, ‘I’m sorry, but I’m not going to do this to myself.’”
Now that she’s able to reflect, the Kenya Moore Haircare owner said she’d do things differently if given the chance. “The only thing that I can say with me is that once I did see the red flag, I should have gotten out then,” Kenya stated. “I needed to stop being Captain Save-a-Ho. Some hoes can’t be saved!”
Is Kenya coming back to RHOA?
Since her divorce is final and she’s starring in a new Lifetime movie, Abducted Off the Street: The Carlesha Gaither Story, it sounds like there’s a storyline in play for the longtime peach holder for Season 16.
However, after months of casting, there’s still no official announcement from Bravo regarding who is in and who is out. Kenya continues to hint at a statement coming soon, but fans are left waiting for now.
The latest from the Housewives rumor mill is that Porsha Williams would make her way back to Bravo for the next season along with Kenya, leaving Shereé Whitfield, Marlo Hampton, Drew Sidora, and Sanya Richards-Ross to fight for contracts after Kandi Burruss announced her departure on the Grammy’s red carpet on Sunday.
Recently, Andy Cohen commented on the state of Georgia’s peaches, adding that Kandi’s exit is a huge loss, but casting for the upcoming season is “superb.”
