This unique European island, just a few hours from London and boasts beautiful weather all year round, making it perfect for a winter getaway.

Madeira, Portugal, is located 280 nautical miles from the African coast and 540 nautical miles from the European continent. 

Together with the islands of Porto Santo and Desertas and the Selvagens – Madeira forms an autonomous region of the country of Portugal. 

In winter, Madeira has much milder temperatures than in mainland Portugal. 

The beautiful island, which is the most densely populated Portuguese island, is perfect for all sorts of fun.

It’s also an easy trip from the UK – perfect for escaping the chilly winter weather.  The average flight time from London to Madeira is just 3 hours 50 minutes. 

There are two flights per day, year-round from Gatwick.

There are five flights per week from Stansted and four flights per week from Luton. You can also fly twice a week from Manchester, Bristol, Leeds and Glasgow making Maderia an excellent spot to escape the February cold.
