Porter Airlines has just announced the newest route to be added to its fast-growing transcontinental network.
As of May 16, 2024, the Toronto-based airline will offer daily service between Toronto Pearson (YYZ) and Saskatoon (YXE).
Porter’s New Toronto–Saskatoon Route
For the first time, Porter Airlines will offer direct service between Toronto Pearson (YYZ) and Saskatoon (YXE).
As of May 16, 2024, Porter will launch daily flights between the two cities. Saskatoon will also become the airline’s first destination in Saskatchewan.
The flight times for this new non-stop service are as follows:
- PD451, Toronto Pearson (YYZ) to Saskatoon (YXE), departing 2:30pm and arriving 4:04pm
- PD452, Saskatoon (YXE) to Toronto Pearson (YYZ), departing 4:52pm and arriving 10:09pm
The westbound flight from Toronto is blocked at 2 hours 34 minutes, while the eastbound flight from Saskatoon is slated to run 4 hours 14 minutes.
This new route is served by Porter’s 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, with PorterClassic, PorterClassic Stretch, and PorterReserve seats available.
The flights are loaded into Porter’s search engine, and may be booked with cash or with VIPorter points throughout the schedule.
Connecting Saskatoon with Toronto and Beyond
This new route announcement is surely welcome news for passengers departing from Saskatoon, especially as other airlines have curtailed service to the city in recent years.
Upon its launch, Porter Airlines will join Air Canada, WestJet, and Flair Airlines in offering direct service between Saskatoon and Toronto.
Introductory pricing on the Porter route is quite competitive, with PorterClassic Basic fares available for around $137 in either direction.
It’s worth noting that the flight prices with other airlines on this route are similar on many dates; however, Porter Airlines is the only one to offer free in-flight Wi-Fi, complimentary food and drinks, and the guarantee of no middle seats.
It’s great to see Porter launching service to Saskatoon, as the number of routes available from the city has been in flux in the past few years when other airlines cut or reduced service.
Keep in mind that Porter has recently launched a new partnership with Alaska Airlines, as well as a joint venture with Air Transat.
As these partnerships expand, passengers travelling to or from Saskatoon will have access to a greater network of flights and booking options.
Conclusion
Porter Airlines has announced its first-ever route to Saskatchewan.
As of May 16, 2024, the airline will offer daily non-stop service between Toronto Pearson (YYZ) and Saskatoon (YXE) with its all-economy Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.
The flights are loaded on Porter’s booking channels, and can be booked throughout the schedule.
