‘s LEGO trailer recreation goes viral, catching the attention of Ryan Reynolds.

Deadpool & Wolverine’s trailer smashed records when making its debut at this year’s Super Bowl, and it is hard to think how the first footage of Ryan Reynolds’ MCU debut could have been any better. Well, it could have always been partly done using LEGO by the 15-year-old animator that shot to fame for creating a scene for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

Although it clocks in at just five-seconds in length, Preston Mutanga wasted no time in sharing his recreation of one of the trailer’s most referenced moments, when Deadpool reloads his guns against the backdrop of the broken remains of the 20th Century Fox sign, and it was an instant viral sensation. As well as gaining over 50k likes on X/Twitter, the video managed to come to the attention of Deadpool himself, Reynolds, who was more than happy to retweet the clip.

The LEGO interpretation of the moment that comes just over half-way through the trailer has already been flooded with requests for the whole trailer to be reworked in the same style. It would not be out of the question for Mutanga to produce this at some point, as it was his recreation of the entire Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse trailer in January 2023 that landed him a job working on a sequence for the movie itself. While it is unlikely that Deadpool will be dipping into a world of LEGO in his new movie, the clip is certainly a strong reminder that the teen is still keeping on top of Marvel Studios’ new movies, and we cannot wait to see where his own adventure takes him in the future.

Deadpool & Wolverine Can Become 2024’s Barbie

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been through a few tough years, and having now mostly taken a year off to get their house in order again, it falls to the ever-resourceful Deadpool and his would-be pal Wolverine to deliver something big for Marvel Studios as their only theatrical release of the year.

Deadpool’s previous movies delivered huge box office results and reviews to match, and now he is joining forces with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine – one of Marvel’s most popular characters to have appeared on-screen – in an adventure that looks set to span the multiverse and change the MCU forever…who would bet against it becoming the biggest movie of the year?

Deadpool 3 Takes Down Spider-Man: No Way Home Trailer With Record-Breaking Launch

Deadpool 3, now dubbed Deadpool & Wolverine, was given a first look during Sunday’s Super Bowl telecast which broke viewing records.

To put everything in context, if Deadpool & Wolverine breaks the $1 billion mark by a reasonable amount, then it could potentially take as much as Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and The Marvels combined. This is exactly the kind of result that Kevin Feige and Disney CEO Bob Iger will be hoping for, and judging by the reaction to that record-breaking trailer, Deadpool’s third outing is gearing up to be the biggest Marvel Studios release since Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Deadpool & Wolverine
is released in cinemas on July 26, 2024.
