Blood sausage (Sundae) – Maangchi’s Korean cooking ingredients

Sundae is a Korean-style blood sausage made by stuffing pig or cow’s blood, noodles, and various spices into pig or cow intestine. The intestine is then sealed, boiled, and sliced up to eat. It is a food rich in protein and nutrients, sold in Korea as street food, in large open-air markets, department store food courts and in specialty restaurants.

Outside of Korea it’s sold frozen in Korean grocery stores. They are imported and already cooked and should be thawed before boiling. The package is food safe and the sundae should be boiled in it, as per the instructions on the package.
