Oppenheimer Sets Major Streaming Record Previously Held By Super Mario Bros. Movie

Following its streaming release on Peacock, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer has now set a major new record, beating The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.

Oppenheimer has beaten The Super Mario Bros. Movie to set a new viewership record for Peacock. Directed by Christopher Nolan, Oppenheimer stars Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, chronicling the American physicist’s life and career as it relates to the creation of the first atomic bomb. The film was a major critical and commercial hit upon its release last year, and, after first going to VOD in November, became available to stream on Peacock on February 16.

Now, Variety reports that Oppenheimer‘s Peacock streaming release has broken a new record for the streamer. The movie is officially the biggest pay-one launch in Peacock’s history, beating the previous record-holder, The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Unfortunately, viewership numbers for both titles haven’t been made available.

More to come…
