A new study has found the city with the world’s best cuisine but it might leave your mouth watering.
Ever booked a holiday just to try a new cuisine? A new study from the team at Titan Travel has found the world’s best cities for a foodie break. The team looked at the variety of restaurants in top holiday destinations around the world to find the answer.Â
10. Seoul
Seoul, South Korea’s vibrant capital city, took 10th place in the ranking. It’s never a long walk to some tasty street food in Seoul and don’t miss grabbing a steaming bowl of bimbimbap. South Korean culture is having a moment around the world and if you want to fit in with the kids, grab an instragrammable corndog.Â
9. Barcelona
Barcelona, one of Europe’s leading city break destinations, took second place on the list. Many tourists visit the city’s iconic La Boqueria market to sample local cuisine but visitors will find similar stalls and fewer crowds at the smaller Mercat de Santa Caterina.Â
Barcelona’s must-try dishes include black rice with garlic aioli and salt cod and tomato salad.Â
8. New Delhi
India’s capital took eighth place on the list. One of the world’s busiest metropolis, the city has restaurants showcasing cuisine from all over India. For a local Delhi treat, grab a chole bhature, a type of chickpea curry.Â
New Delhi also has some of the world’s best vegetarian food so it’s a fantastic destination for non-meat eaters.Â
7. SingaporeÂ
Singapore’s food market hawker culture is so special, it’s even been awarded UNESCO status. The city’s chilli crab is world renowned but tourists will find a huge range of cuisines at Singapore’s huge food markets.Â
6. Paris
Paris landed just outside the top five. While tourists will find cuisine from all over France in Paris, don’t miss a slice of opera cake, a local delicacy.Â
If you’ve had your fill of French food, the city also has some fantastic Middle Eastern restaurants.Â
5. Dubai
Dubai came fifth on the list. The Middle Eastern has a huge range of restaurants with cuisine from all over the world. Head to the souk for local delicacies.Â
Dubai was also named Tripadvisor’s best holiday destination so it’s a great spot to explore this year.Â
4. New York
New York just missed out on a spot in the three in the rankings. Try one of the city’s iconic smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels or a slice of pizza.
3. Mumbai
Mumbai had the world’s third best food. The Indian city is known for its fresh produce and colourful markets. Don’t skip pani puri, one of the city’s tastiest street food snacks.Â
Crispy hollow potato balls are filled with potatoes and chutney to create a delectable snack.Â
2. London
The only British city to make the list, the Big Smoke just missed out on the top spot. The capital’s food scene is much more than fish and chips and roast dinners, with a huge range of restaurants serving dishes from all over the world. Head to one of the city’s markets to find fantastic street food.Â
1. Tokyo
Topping the list was Tokyo with the world’s best food. From sushi to ramen, it’d be hard to sample all of Japan’s delicacies in just one visit. Head to Tsijuki Outdoor Market to pick up fresh seafood.Â
