Sicilian slice
The Post recently ran a story about the rising popularity of Detroit-style pizza (“War and pizza in the Big Apple,” Feb. 19).
The caption under one picture says thicker-crust Detroit style pizza is on the rise around the country, while locals still swear by the classic New York slice.
But the photo wasn’t of a Detroit slice, but Sicilian.
Has The Post never heard of Sicilian pizza, which is by all appearances the style of pizza pictured in the article?
A Sicilian slice is cut into squares and has a thick crust.
It’s sold in every reputable New York pizzeria.
Forget Detroit: Long live the Sicilian pizza!

Putin’s sycophant
Tucker Carlson’s tour of a Russian supermarket was shockingly stupid (“Russia is our civilizational enemy,” Post Opinion, Rich Lowry, Feb. 16).
What is most worrying is that many Americans are unable to distinguish between the truth and the lie. In a healthy society, the truth overcomes the lie.
But the United States is not a healthy democracy, and Americans are ripe targets for Carlson’s brand of faux-populist disinformation.
Tucker notes that food prices in Russia are lower than in the United States.
But the average per capita income in Russia is about $16K per year, while in the United States it’s $76K.
Things cost more in richer countries.

Hate University
What happened to America (“More Harvard hate,” Feb. 21)?
What I’m seeing from the left is extremely troubling.
The increased aggression toward Jewish people is truly mind-blowing and should be condemned by every leader in this country, especially in New York.
But I’m only hearing silence.
Our leaders should demand institutions of higher education put an immediate stop to this.
I don’t want to hear talk of freedom of speech: These schools have barred or disinvited speakers from the ideological right in the past.
Yet somehow the Democratic Party still gets the Jewish vote.
When we cast our votes blindly, this is the result.

American guilt
Feel proud, America (“US again dismisses UN draft for ceasefire,” Feb. 21)?
We are the only country to veto and oppose the recent United Nations resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
There, over two million civilians are continuously denied food and water, attacked by Israeli troops, bombed and forced to camp in tents while the death toll mounts every day.
Meanwhile, Congress stands ready to send $14 billion of military assistance to Israel, even though Israel is already the 10th-largest weapons exporter in the world. Shame on Washington.

Nikki’s agenda
Watch out, Uncle Joe: GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley is sounding more like a Democrat every day (“Haley’s here to the end,” Feb. 21).
Your party may soon try to swing Nikki over from her Republican bid to “save democracy” and defeat former President Donald Trump.
Haley is doing a great job disparaging Trump, while seeming to gloss over President Biden’s age.
Recently she accused Republicans of a “Soviet-style election” where there’s only one candidate (conveniently forgetting all of the indictments levied against Don).
Nikki, you don’t have to “kiss the ring.”
Just support the triumphant candidate.
