Who knew the queen of mean-ish quips, Lisa Rinna, actually chose to leave the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and wasn’t given the boot? Since Season 5, the soap opera actress has been adding her personal touch to the series. With her iconic haircut and big lips, Lisa sure made a name for herself, but it wasn’t always good. She often found herself in trouble after she shared her opinions on others’ heath issues too freely. But she also gave us iconic moments like Bunny-gate. With the bomb that is Annemarie Wiley, it is starting to look like the series needs back some heavy hitters, and Lisa would be perfect for the role.
Why Did Lisa Leave
After Season 8, Lisa confirmed that she would be giving up her diamond. Some fans found the news thrilling, while others worried about the state of the franchise. The decision seemed to be made due to her contract expiring, with Lisa’s statement via People. “This is the longest job I have held in my 35-year career, and I am grateful to everyone at Bravo and all those involved in the series. It has been a fun eight-year run, and I am excited for what is to come!”
Friends Not Enemies
Lisa didn’t always play well with others, as her interactions showed with Sutton Stracke, Denise Richards, and Kathy Hilton. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills viewers grew tired of watching Lisa lashing out all in the name of screentime. But time has a way of healing, and it doesn’t look like there is much bad blood between some of the women and the actor. During an episode of Watch What Happens Live, Kathy shared there was peace between them, sharing “Absolutely. She’s doing well, and I’m very happy for her. We always had such a good time… until we didn’t.”
Sutton and Lisa haven’t spoken since the Season 12 reunion, but both women left in a better place than when they started. Sutton even mentioned that she would like to work their way someday back to a friendship. With all the positivity around Lisa, it seems like it might not be such a bad idea to ask her back, especially if the women also support the move.
Lisa Feels Vindicated
Lisa is even speaking out about her time with Bravo, and it is coming across in a pretty positive way. While posing for Cosmopolitan, Lisa shared she was happy to see that Bravo had shared her resignation letter, saying, “I had no idea. Nobody gave me a heads-up. I mean, a week before it aired, somebody sent it to me because Bravo had sent out a preview of the episode. So I thought, ‘Wow, look at that.’ Because, of course, everyone thought I’d been fired. But no, I made that decision. I sent text messages to the rest of the people. I sent an email to the head of Bravo, but I sent text messages to everybody else.”
For Lisa, the decision was the right one to make “at the time,” and she was happy the network made the right call to air her email, which read, “I will not be renewing my contract, and I will not be coming back to RHOBH. Thank you so much for 8 years!!!! All the best, Lisa.”
What Does Lisa’s Future Hold?
The mother of two is currently booked and busy telling Cosmo she doesn’t doubt her decision to leave at all, telling readers, “No. God no. No, people think that maybe I do, but no, I didn’t regret it when I sent the letter, and I haven’t regretted it since.” Since leaving the Bravosphere, Lisa has disengaged from the series, choosing not to watch the newest season. While some fans might be wondering if she will ever return, my humble opinion is she won’t.
Lisa has been living her life, which has included trips to Fashion Week, modeling, taking acting gigs, and just enjoying the peace that comes from not having to film your everyday life.
