When Uncharted Will Come To Streaming

The Uncharted movie adapts the video game franchise of the same name, released in theaters in 2022. It has since hit streaming platforms and become an even bigger hit than when it was in theaters – a fun action movie that fits perfectly on streaming services like Netflix, where it was located at first. Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg play the leading roles of Nate Drake and Sully Sullivan, who set out to find treasure before a corrupt billionaire, Santiago Moncada (Antonio Banderas), finds it first.

Uncharted‘s story is not a direct adaptation of the franchise’s video games but provides a new Uncharted origin story for Tom Holland’s Nathan Drake. This allows for more creative freedom in the film’s narrative without incorporating the games’ continuity. In doing so, Uncharted risked alienating fans of the games, but it ended up as a big success, making $407.1 million on a $120 million budget and then was a big hit on streaming after that. It has since moved to a different service in 2025.

When Uncharted came out theatrically, theaters fought to return to normal after the pandemic shutdowns. Unlike many movies struggling to find footing in the new theatrical world, Uncharted was a big success, bringing in a respected $407.1 million at the box office. When it dropped on streaming, fans had a chance to see it on Netflix and compare the Uncharted movie’s characters to their video game counterparts sooner rather than later. While it was there, it remained a top-streamed movie title for the service.

However, it is moving in 2025 to a new streaming home. Max has acquired the rights to Uncharted. The movie moved to its new streaming home on January 15 and will be available for fans to discover all over again. For anyone not subscribed to Max, it runs $9.99 a month with ads or $16.99 monthly for the ad-free level. There is also a Max level that is $20.99 a month that includes 4K streaming. There is also a plan that bundles Max with Hulu and Disney+ for $16.99 with ads or $29.99 without ads.

Uncharted Is Available On Most Digital Retailers

For anyone who still prefers to own their movies and TV shows or who still likes to rent movies, there are several options for fans of Uncharted​​​​​​. The movie is available to rent from almost every digital retailer, with Amazon Prime being the lowest-priced option of all of them. It is available to rent from Apple TV+, Fandango At Home (formerly Vudu), Microsoft, Spectrum, and Amazon Prime. It is also available to buy digitally on Fanango At Home, Microsoft, and Amazon Prime.

Fans can also buy it as physical media. Amazon has it on BluRay for as low as $11.19, DVD for $7.50, and even in 4K Ultra BluRay for $15.19. Fans have plenty of time to catch Uncharted before the sequel comes out. Sony has put the film into development, and they are currently working on a script. However, producer Charles Roven said they are waiting for Tom Holland to finish his The Odyssey movie with Christopher Nolan and the next Spider-Man movie before they can go into active production.
